Is there a true crime series that just gets on with it?

I've decided to try true crime podcasts. Choosing carefully because I don't wish to be entertained by rape or child abuse. I chose Sea of Lies, about a body wearing a Rolex that some Cornish fishermen found in their net.

I'm struggling with the slow pace. It's interesting, but I want them to get on with it!

Lots of teasing about what's coming up, and dragging out how shocking future revalations would be.

I need something zippier. Tell me what happened, discuss it, get on with it.

Spotify Crime House Murder True Crime Stories is easy to listen to. Two episodes a week, the narrator's voice isn't grating and there's usually just enough intrigue to keep you hooked.

Thanks, I'll give it a go.

Bad People on BBC Sounds. Each story wrapped up in around 40mins (though there are a few double episodes).

UK True Crime Podcast does cases over 30 mins. Dateline is also in podcast format, they vary between 40min - 1.5h ish.

if you like longer form but where stuff happens, try Proof.

All Killa No Filla and Morbid are also good too but do occasionally meander into host personal lives, which I personally don’t mind but might not be for you.
