Anyone listen to Francesca Amber's Law of Attraction podcast this week?

Let me start off by saying I have loved Francesca's podcasts and they have, in many ways, changed my life and way of thinking. I'm a much more positive person because of them.

However, this week she had an episode with an influencer called Mymategingerkate. The podcast started off normally then took a weird conspiracy theory twist. I'm all for a little bit of chat about this, but I was quite horrified at the conviction this 'influencer' spoke without any facts and not challenged at all. In no particular order they said

  1. Tap water is poison.
  2. Covid didn't happen (whilst also saying they had suffered from it)
  3. To be very wary of the HPV -and essentially insinuating HPV wasn't the cause of cervical cancer.
  4. That the Earth isn't round 🙄
  5. That all the doctors and nurses during Covid were paid to be part of the conspiracy and go along with it.

I don't really know who this influencer is, but she was batshit and I find it depressing that she wasn't challenged at all to present facts or findings by Francesca and that F essentially agreed with everything she said. Sadly so many people will just blindly believe what they say and I find it so sad that Francesca didn't do more research and editing.

Not sure why I'm posting, but just wondered if anyone else heard it and was as disappointed with it as I was?

I didn't hear it, but believe me, anything with the "influencer" word in it is totally avoided by me. And for good reason it seems.

No one influences me, well as far as I know!

I totally agree. She talks about the Law of Attraction and positive, healthy habits which I find great! But the conspiracy theory bullshit was awful to listen to.

Yes I am disappointed/sad/angry. Horrible messages - no concern for anyone. It's made me see her in a totally different light - and reading her replies on instagram she obviously couldn't care less. As long as she continues to make money I don't think she will care.

Agapornis · 09/02/2025 20:43

Wouldn't be the first podcast with a presenter who doesn't question nutters' claims! I'd strongly recommend something more factual, like More Or Less :)

JumpingPumpkin · 09/02/2025 20:59

Law of attraction? Isn't that also nonsense?

pinkfluffyunicorn82 · 09/02/2025 22:31

@JumpingPumpkin it's essentially just thinking positively and putting ideas into practise. It has really helped me but after listening to this episode I just think she's a bullshitter

She has replied to positive comments and completely ignored negative - both on her post promoting it and on her post of the podcast.

Me too - I hope other people realise this too

I've followed mymategingerkate on instagram and I've loved the natural, alternative recipes she's made for face masks, moisturisers, deodorant, cleansing balms etc. I think she's done really well out of this natural beauty influencing but I had no idea she had started down the conspiracy route. Disappointing.

pinkfluffyunicorn82 · 10/02/2025 07:34

@LittleEsme they were both embarrassing to be honest. She just seems she was lucky to get the following she did. She actually believes the Earth isn't round and we live on top of a glass dome, she also doesn't believe that HPV causes cancer (giving ZERO evidence for her wild claims). Depressing

Not surprisingly she has turned comments off in YouTube

I couldn’t believe it either - I’ve loved the podcast for years but will never listen again and feel like I’ve seen her in her true light now. She made it 100x worse with her response that she’d “only” offended 20 people - completely untrue as I’ve seen hundreds of comments. The more I’ve thought about it all, the more I’ve realised how toxic she is generally - the way she openly criticises her children’s fathers, her own mother etc on the podcast. The fact she funds her whole life on money from her followers but can’t bring herself to genuinely apologise when she makes a huge mistake. She talks so much about being a single mum and having the responsibility of raising three daughters - I feel so sorry for those girls if she genuinely believes all those conspiracies. Absolutely gross - I won’t be listening ever again.

Exactly- I feel sick now that I have actually given her money to fund her lifestyle.

I just want to start by saying I have been a Francesca fan for years. The pods genuinely got me through some tough times! Though yesterday, on a long drive I was taking, I decided to put this episode on (without having seen that it had caused any stir online etc). I was attracted to the title of 'changing your life within 365 days' and thought it might be the boost I need as feeling a little low. By the end of my drive, I can tell you my mood was now practically on the floor, and my anxiety through the roof. I became worried about things I wasn't worried about before, and as someone who has had all these jabs as I work IN a hospital, my mind spiralled VERY quickly. Regardless of what is conspiracy or not, the majority of us crack on with these rules to respect other people. I feel really disappointed that I spent my free time listening to something that was almost 'click bait', as the title did not reflect the episode. I've never left a review or a thread for anything before, but after being in near tears with my partner and quite literally having heart palpitations for the rest of the day, I'm comforted to see the reaction was similar amongst other listeners.

I just found this almost a year later. This is such a bummer as I’ve loved her podcast for so long. I live in America in NY (I definitely did not vote for him, btw and I’m so sorry the world has to deal with his cruelty and ignorance). I just watched the YouTube version of that episode and it’s so upsetting that she gave airtime to that ignorant woman 😱. Covid doesn’t exist? We didn’t go to the moon? They don’t believe in vaccines? We live in a biodome? She thinks it’s stupid that people VOTE? That’s literally how my country is where it is today is because of the bs that they were spewing on that episode. People believing the EARTH IS FLAT and that it doesn’t matter if vote or not.
I get that manifesting is tied to a lot of hucksters and pseudoscience and social media bs and pyramid schemes, etc. But I don’t think that has to diminish the practice itself. If you want another person to follow, find Martha Beck and her books and podcast. I like her because she is into a lot of “woo-woo” stuff (mainly following your intuition) but she also very much thinks science is real and that vaccines are critical for public health and that people need to vote so we don’t lose democratic civilization. Her life story is CRAZY. She changed her whole life and now does life coaching but originally she was raised Mormon, got married and then eventually went to Harvard and got her PhD in Sociology and Asian Studies before she decided she didn’t want to be a professor and realized she was gay, etc. But I trust her because she thinks there is a place for both- science and western ways of learning, logic, etc. and also other ways of understanding the world, eastern medicine, listening to our intuition, psychic abilities etc. that have largely been discounted by most western societies and institutions for so long. So definitely check her out. I prefer her podcast called “The Gathering Room” over her other one she does with her partner, just fyi.

Anyway - that is SO disappointing about Amber. I hope she eventually apologizes for promoting that dangerous, uneducated bs but it sounds like she won’t. Thanks for telling us about it. I’m definitely going to send her a message saying what a huge fan I’ve been and how painful it is to hear her helping to spread stupid and dangerous conspiracy theories!
