Liking his show so far. He's obviously slightly nervous but that's understandable, he's just taken over a huge radio show.

I think it's got great potential.

I think it has potential too, just not sure the music is going to be for me. I didn't listen to Scott mills much as I wasn't keen on the music he played and while I like what Trevor plays i like a bit more variety and I'm concerned he'll play stuff similar to his late night show mostly which will loose my interest.
I quite liked Scott on the breakfast show though which surprised me.

I turned over after 30 minutes, the music just isn't for me. Particularly mid afternoon. I think I will only listen to breakfast, Vernon and then Spotify for the rest of the day.

I’m listening to him at the moment not sure if it’s for me but will give him a chance. I used to turn the radio off at 2pm when Scott Mills came because I couldn’t stand him

Absolutely loving it. I think he’s perfect for the afternoon when we need a bit of energy to keep going. He’s just played The Jam so not sure what the people complaining about the music choice are going on about.

Yeah I'm not sure you can judge a show on such a few tunes either.

Exactly @TinyMouseTheatre He was always going to start with his favourite artists. He’s just played The New Radicals which is a brilliant tune.

I may give him another chance tomorrow, but we do all have different musical tastes.

Definitely give him another chance if you can @LadyDanburysHat. You may grow to like his choices. I like Scott Mills but I wasn’t a fan of a lot of things he played, like Steps. Not my thing at all.

I'm liking the music so far. One of the problems with Radio 2 is their playsuit. They have the biggest music collection of any station but they play the same ones over and over again. At least he's playing different things, although he'll be made to playbthe playsuit I assume!

I do agree with this too. There should be a better mix.

Yes me too. That was my Radio 4 true crime podcast time! I think he's better suited to the morning!

Anyway, I had a ling drive today and loved it!

Pleasantly surprised today, he seems lovely and I really liked the music he played.

I've been listening to him this week, not for the whole show but I think it's been a great first week.

I agree that R2 okay the sane music on rotation and sone of the tracks he's played have made a refreshing change

I've listened all week too. I could only tolerate Scott in the afternoon for a short while, but I look forward to Trevors show now. I even prefer Scott in the mornings! I think they've finally got it more or less right.

I'm preferring Scott in the mornings too. I couldn't listen to Zoe after a while. All the upbeat jolly stuff just didn't seem that genuine to me. I don't know if that's how she wanted to present or how she was being told to behave, it just felt a little forced.

I really like the whole new Breakfast team. Ellie, the new traffic person is perfect for the mornings. She has a lovely slightly gravelly voice. I was LOLing at her talking about moving from Manchester to London, and its nice that we've got to know Tina better too.

Re Trevor Nelson's new show, I gave it a good go but as I predicted, he has continued with the same theme as his previous show, mostly playing RnB; Soul; Regge; Funk etc, and whilst I am up for a bit of that, I'd prefer a variety of music in the afternoons.
I contacted the Editor of his show to remind her of the demographic and expectations of the Radio 2 listeners and received a pat response, although she did promise that he would mix it up and play popular music, as well as 'his' choices. However, I don't think that is happening, especially on the unashamedly named Funky Fridays.
I'm listening to Greatest Hits/Virgin as an alternative, but you have to get used to the Ads.
If the Radio 2 Editors continue to ignore the expectations of their loyal listeners, by sticking to a political agenda and getting rid of their best D.Js, they will lose their huge audience to rival stations - eager to employ the D.J.s Radio 2 let go.

He's a treat. It's great to have someone who knows music. He's a natural.

I've actually started a playlist for all the great music he's playing and I particularly love Trevor Trove.

I love Trevor . His playlist today has been great . I'm sick to death of hearing Coldplay and Kim Wilde all of the time. Mica Paris was fabulous this week, too, and Tom Grennan .

I liked Bobbi doing the traffic today.

Much more natural rapport than when Ritchie is doing it.

Is she just Fridays now? She's such a familiar sound in all the change.
