I'm listening to old episodes of the archers (currently May 2012).
Tony has just had a heart attack, probably brought on by Tom hassling him to tidy up the farm for promo shots, and now can't do so much milking.
Tom has valiantly put his ready meals on hold and taken over some of the responsibility which has included groundbreaking ideas such as a new admin system for ordering feed.
Peggy is horrified that Tom's talent is going to waste, lamenting he should be far more involved in the strategic side of developing the business not stuck on a tractor.
Which got me wondering, why is Peggy so often differed to as a some sort of business mogul / dragons den type character?
I know she ran a pub and her husband Jack owned Grey Gables but does Peggy have a background I'm not aware of? What makes her so ready to give business advice to Bridge Farm?? It is really irritating me!!
