Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you fancy Mucky Mick, or other unusual views.

The scars from Scambridge week will take some healing. Most of us felt we were the ones scammed - where was The Archers we know and (very occasionally) love?

Anyway, onwards and - almost certainly not - upwards. Will it be the best Christmas ever in Ambridge? Do we still care? Over to you!

Ok, I've listened now: who is Anya? I vaguely recognise the name but don't remember who she is. Worker in the Bridge Farm shop? Childminder? Does she have any connections in the village?

Anya works in the BF shop. I can't remember the CM name but it's something like Mariette.

Anya has been working for the Bridge Farm organic shop since it first opened in Borchester in June 2000. She is a saint.

Why? I mean, why would Vince, and come to that why would George?

Iirc Vince quite liked George.

Also, we've thrown everyone else into the mix, so I say Vince or Pony Woman.

Are posters confusing Vince with Martyn Gibson? George at one point was enthralled by Martyn Gibson.

No. He briefly worked for Martyn Gibson.

Tom, Helen and Eddie really are vile.

It can't be Vince because he (together with Elizabeth, Freddie, Lily, Oliver, Alistair and Denise) appears to have been abducted by aliens and, as result, is not longer able to appear in TA.

Eddie seems to be getting increasingly nasty as time goes on.

He takes after his father, who was a horrible man.

It can't be Oliver, I don't think he'd do something like that behind Ed and Will's backs.

I think it's Clive. It explains why they reintroduced him over the summer and it's the worst possible outcome for Susan who already feels wretched about the whole situation. Felt very sorry for her in tonight's episode.

Someone asked when George will be released. I reckon around about June / July time.

It’s really hard to care who’s visiting George. I’m surprised we haven’t heard more from Tracy with Brad’s storyline at the moment.

Really surprising. Brad is struggling with the responsibility. It's a heavy load to bear. Tracy and Jazzer should have noticed that.

If the story lines maintained internal integrity they would have but the aliens must have scooped them up as well.

Oh - I’m adding Mia to the Prison Visitor List.

In real life I think she probably would; she’s faaaaamly, she cares about him, they haven’t fallen out, and he respects people with a broader life experience than his own. However I suspect in the show it wouldn’t cause enough negative family fallout so it may not be her. Though she was mentioned the other day as having returned for the holidays. It would be great if the SWs include her in the plot, going forward, even if we never actually hear from her.

(God - poor Will. His stepdaughter went off to uni; simultaneously his son went off to prison. His head must be mashed.)

George would want to see her. Also she’s probably too buoyant at the moment to be intimidated by any truculence on his part.

I thought Tom sounded very kind to Helen, he tries hard though often gets things wrong.
All moving in together - madness!
Henry and Jack would hate having to give up one of their bedrooms and share the other, Helen and Natasha sharing a kitchen? Seems set up for drama (I guess that's the point).
Eddie's being loyal to George, I kind of get it. Who's going to enjoy their Christmas dinner anyway knowing George is locked up all day.
