Mishal Husain leaving BBC?! Where is she going?!

Does anyone know? Absolutely love her style and beautiful way of pinning interviewees gracefully to the floor if warranted.

Indeed. I’ll miss her very much on the Today programme.

Apparently after 25 years, BBC employees are gifted 5 weeks' leave, so perhaps she'll take that and then I expect she'll have the pick of radio/TV/writing/lecturing/public speaking projects to keep her busy. She's an incredible broadcaster; intuitive, smart, calm and respectful. I read Katja Adler or Sarah Smith might replace her, both would be excellent too.

According to the BBC News website: ‘She will join Bloomberg to host a new interview series and be editor-at-large of its Weekend Edition’.

She is a fantastic journalist and I will really miss her calm, incisive interviewing on the Today programme.

I am also wondering who will replace her - Katya Adler and Lyse Doucet have both presented Today recently, as is Jonny Dymond, so presume they are trying out a few folk. There’s a few other current presenters whom I’d far rather see leave Today than Mishal!

I just read that on BBC News. Nooooooo!!!!! I bloody love her! So calm, professional and knowledgeable, she will be a big miss on Today. Now we're left with bumbling Amol Rajan and Emma Barnett who I used to like but is terrible on Today.

I’m very disappointed. The newer Today presenters are quite, erm, strident, in a way that feels they are trying to prove their points, something Mishal (and Justin, and Nick) don’t need to do because they are better journalists. Sigh.

What a shame, I'll miss her on Today. Really hope it's not Lyse Doucet - I like her specific reporting but she's no good as a general presenter (sorry Lyse). I could live Katja Adler.
I do feel that Mishal's background brings something to the interviews with Israeli military people (you know the guy) that the other presenters and obvious candidates can't. It'd be real shame not to have that anymore. We need someone who pronounces Qatar with a proper Q 😁

I was really sad to hear this. She's one of the best and I'll miss her.
