Alice Aldridge was back on the booze. Had an MO of buying vodka and sitting in the car, drinking herself to a stupor and sleeping in the car. George found her on his way back from a party at which he had brought along a cheap fruit cider from the village shop. Alice had purchased her vodka from the same place, same day, sold by Joy.
George decides to drive Alice home. She had been drinking in the passenger seat, keys in glovebox. He voicemails Will to let him know.
On the drive, which presumably is illegal as George has been drinking, Alice wants to get out, George loses control when another vehicle approaches on the bridge and the other vehicle goes into the Am. George helps to rescue those who've gone in - in particular Fallon i think. Alastair and Denise are there too.
George moved Alice from the passenger seat to the drivers seat as she was stone cold drunk so that Alice rather than he would take the rap.
And then he's slowly looked like he was unravelling. Alice has got sober and suspects that she didn't drive but can't quite place it. Lots of absolute horrors, like Justin, have been awful to Alice. She faces prison.
George confessed to his mum. She told Will. They couldn't get George to go to the police. George ran off to Uncle Clive, came back. Susan and Neil heard the stuff about the cider which had been found in the car actually having been bought by George and worked it out and made Emma call the cops.
Oh and Fallon lost Harrison's precious baby that she didn't know she was carrying which Harrison blames on Alice.
