The Specialist (Limelight) R4 - what happened at the end?

Talking about the very end of this, so obviously going to be a spoiler, except for the fact that I don't actually understand what happened.

I must not have been concentrating as Ged was saying that it was the last time he saw his sister (who was remembering she'd been bitten by a rat in episode 1), then the sister (Dr Anna Diaz) and the friend (Nell) walked up a hill and saw the whole forest.

What have I missed?

Didn't they see a fire/smoke or something up ahead, and we were meant to think it was the hideout of the evil doctor man? The one who wasn't buried in his grave. It was left open but I assumed he did a murder on them. I enjoyed it! But not the happy ending I was hoping for. Unless there's going to be a second series...

Thinking about it, what was the rat bite about? To bring it up, it must be significant. Hoping a second series will explain!

Agreed! I was paying more attention second time round and couldn't see why that had been highlighted.

Matthew Broughton's Tracks and Broken Colours ran for several series, so hopefully it'll be the same with this! It would have been nice to have it more wrapped up - I felt the sudden cure was a bit rushed and tacked on. They had these forest kids being looming in the background for ages and then they were suddenly very easy to convince!

I too had to listen twice - felt was left hanging! I hope I get notification if there is a season 2!
