Does anyone else feel Steve Wright has ruined this show on a Saturday? I used to love listening when Paul Gambacino hosted but have lost interest now. The inane chatter, stupid comments, talking over the end of the songs. Argh !

Yup. Stopped listening sadly. Listen to the tracks sometimes though when I remember to look at the listing on the programme page.

I didn't hear SW doing POTP but I'm listening to Gary Davies at the moment and he's making a good fist of it. If he got the job permanently I'd be happy.

Do we know who will be hosting it now?

Gosh, I felt the same about SW. I didn't see your original post at the time. I don't think it's been announced yet, who's taking it over permanently. I feel the same about Tony Blackburn & Sounds of the Sixties. Brian Matthew's was much more informative. I've managed to get used to TB now though, even laughed at one of his jokes on Saturday.

There's a very similar programme to Pick of the Pops on Boom Radio Sunday lunchtimes.

I listened to some of it on Saturday and Gary Davies is actually alright. He came out with some good facts like "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" is a cover which is something that I've only discovered recently myself.

Seems Mark Goodier is the new permanent host. He's said today it's live, which I'm not sure it was before. Not doing badly at all, but it helps a lot that he's currently working through a 1970 chart, so there's lots of good stuff to choose from.

I think Mark Goodier sounds a little bit unsure and surprisingly amateur given his very long history as a DJ, but perhaps he's been out of the game for a long time. I'm sure he will settle in.

Only caught a few moments of the show on Saturday, knew that I knows the voice but was so busy I didn't realise it was him.

Hope he does settle into the show and make it his own. Going live on the first show must have been scary.

You'd think it was the only song Cyndi Lauper ever recorded!
