‘Kevin Eldon will see you now’ - what the heck

I don’t know if I’m missing something but listened to this for the first time yesterday and thought it was one of the direst things I’ve heard.
Not funny, not clever, cringingly awful delivery. I can’t figure out who would enjoy this or how it got passed as broadcast-worthy. Is it me? Am I just not getting it?

I think this about most of radio four’s comedy output. Didn’t hear this and won’t rush to listen again.

I think it’s a type of humour I’m unable to tune into perhaps.

That was a bad episode this week. I've listened to his previous series and other episodes in this and found it mildly amusing, this one was odd and lost me along the way.

Comedy is really subjective. I like Kevin Eldon, but he's always been a bit surreal - Big Train, with the stampeding jockeys, etc...

Toomuchfaster. This was the first thing of his I’ve heard so it sounds like I might just have caught an episode that wasn’t representative of his usual quality.

Prince and the jockeys is one of my all time favourite sketches!

I like surrealist comedy. Some people like Mrs brown's boys, I like something a little more left field. There's no right or wrong. I have loved lots and lots of r4 comedy though:
Cabin pressure, John finnemore's souvenir program, that Mitchell and Webb sound, bleak expectations, the news quiz, just a minute, I'm sorry I have's a clue, Clare in the community, the list is endless.

I love Kevin Eldon, he’s completely bonkers. He’s an acquired taste, though, for sure. DH and I have been laughing at this.

His Horrible Histories William the Conqueror explaining the Norman Conquests via the medium of Gangnam Style is something to behold.

(Once you hear, 'Heeeeeey, Saxon ladies' it refuses to leave your head.)

I'm unsure about Kevin Eldon will see you now but such is my love of Poets' Tree that he did years ago that I'm minded to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I love pretty much everything he's done. I also had reason to contact him and he was very lovely and helpful.

Hard for me to say his name without prefixing it with "The actor..."
