Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd be euphoric about getting a job in an abattoir, or other unusual views.

Spoilers: not on this thread, please! Thanks for the thread title suggestions. @HumanWetWipe came up with Cider with Fat Rosie and @BeardieWeirdie thought up Meadow Rise to Candleford. I wish I could have put in the Line of Duty mashups from the end of the last thread. Another time.

Have you people already discussed whose sister the new locum GP might be? The one who unprofessionally diagnosed Jim with a potential carcinoma has he took her money for the ‘selection of lovely cheeses, meats and breads’ (the most impractical Meal Deal ever) ?

My money is on Adil. It’s about time they brought him a bit of back-story / family in, to convert him from a wooden spatula into being a human person. No?

Welcome @MuckyPlucky i think our money was on him too. There was even speculation that their parents might be “the GG owners” (although my personal hunch is that the SW haven’t decided who the owners are and may never do so).

I’m missing Kirsty (in a non Helen context) and Brian at the moment.

Oh good point about Mum & Dad Shah being the new owners of GG. And the GP will be the new village GP (they don’t have one I don’t think, do they?). And the whole diagnosing-Jim-over-the-naice ham thing was a plot device to mean she’ll be feted as a fabulous village GP henceforth (when it transpired Jim had a basal cell carcinoma & had a v lucky escape, so she’ll become the much-trusted GP. I hope she has a bit more charisma than her wooden spatula of a brother. I feel enraged when Adil speaks.

we already have one of those with Jakob but that was for a reason! I’d like to hear him having a proper sibling ding dong Row with the doc (if it is she)

@harriethoyles , maybe if you'd posted it in Radio Addicts, you'd have got away with it, but paellasmyfave would still have had the 'controlling', 'far too soon' and 'red flags everywhere'

I thought it was interesting because our dislike of pip has attached all the red flags to her but if you take away knowing the characters then Stella is displaying a few herself. She’s moving very fast. I can see why her ex ran for the hills if she remains this intense

Before I met DH, I had a brief relationship with a chap I was seeing. he suggested I meet his 4 year old within weeks of meeting. I'm afraid I found it utterly repelling and ended the fling soon thereafter, having never laid eyes on said sproglet. I just found it really weird and intense.

With my DSD with DH, we waited for 6 months to even tell them about me and then let them choose when they were ready to meet me - one straight away and one a month or so later. And they were much older than FR!

Are 2 red flags a match made in heaven or a disaster in the making?

OMG I've been lurking on these threads for absolute ages, and this post has finally got me to put my head above the parapet! I'm German, a musician with horses, which I occasionally manage to combine, so I can literally say that life IS a pony concert.
