I am getting married later this year to a wonderful man who turned up on our first date with a complete set of CP CDs. Naturally we are looking to incorporate some CP motifs into the day. We would like to process/leave the ceremony to the theme music, which will be played on a keyboard. Does anyone know if there is a keyboard arrangement we can source?

Will your wedding cake be seed cake? Can you get Hitchcock films or Sinatra songs into your vows or speeches?

AinmÁlainn · 08/05/2023 17:41

Can you arrange for anyone to strafe the venue with hard boiled candies? Be sure to protect any koi ponds.

This thread has mad me very happy. I hope your life together is too.

Sunnysunbun · 09/05/2023 04:58

You all need a pot of baby food or some of those little tiny chickens so you feel like giants.

Persipan · 07/05/2023 09:44

Please tell me you're travelling to the reception in a... yellow car.

Or else in the back of a van, with a thousand strawberry lollies.

And a piano.

CabernetSauvignon · 10/05/2023 01:12

You need to hire a smoke-filled fuselage complete with Adrian the dummy for a party game where people have to find him before they collapse.

Also, of course, you have to include 400 quiches in the catering budget.

Sunnysunbun · 10/05/2023 20:51

We need to know how many otters you can fit in your wedding venue.

cakeorwine · 12/05/2023 19:31

I am sure it will be a brilliant wedding!

Maybe some pre announcements - the film game - can you get Hitchcock references into a speech?
Speak in words of 1 syllable
Play Simon Says.

And the lemon is in play

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 08/05/2023 08:49

Omg your wedding will be amazing 😁😁😁

Can I come?

Don't forget to serve dragonfroooot!

Or boeuf borgignon!

But no strudel. Because people prefer cheesecake

Isthisjustnormal · 13/05/2023 07:58

Oh this is so absolutely marvellous! You definitely need occasional airport tannoy announcements! How about a props table for photos with captains hats; princess crowns (I know she isn’t that kind of princess) etc.
I also suggest adding to the extensive food suggestions above muffins as served at Swiss interviews and a host of little whitebait lives.

congratulations OP and hope you have an absolutely brilliant day and a very happy life together.

This thread is excellent.
Will you be playing a game of people who aren't evil but have evil sounding names?

TheNachtzehrer · 13/05/2023 09:41

I will give you TEN MILLION POUNDS* if, at the altar, you furrow your brow in consternation, turn to your STBH, and say, "Hey... Chief..."

*I am a young tycoon on an aeroplane-buying spree

JulieHoney · 13/05/2023 09:50

@TheNachtzehrer I think I would injure myself laughing

TheNachtzehrer · 13/05/2023 10:06

@JulieHoney we refer to "Ipswich" in this house as "that time Daddy nearly drove off the road because he was laughing so hard" 😁

In the recording, when Douglas says it again to save their jobs, it's clear that Roger Allam breaks character. He says "I'm going to have to learn to say that with a straight face", and then is back into Douglas mode.

I too had to pull over as I was laughing so hard.

I thought that was in character? It was basically Douglas saying he would never contemplate the possibility that he might be wrong, because he never is wrong.

Yes it’s definitely in character!

jellyandscream · 13/05/2023 10:58

Has anyone suggested orchids yet?

Has anyone suggested orchids yet?

Or someone yelling out during the vows "and what does he have that I don't have?"

"No. No it’s not awkward for my husband, it’s not awkward for my grandson, we’ve nothing to feel awkward about; we accepted an invitation in good faith."

I do like Helskinki. What cake are you having?

HerculesTheBerkules · 13/05/2023 14:40

Can either of you pay for your honeymoon on your mother’s credit card?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 13/05/2023 22:35

When the vicar/registrar announces that you're now married, you'll both have to say "brilliant!".

BeBraveLittlePenguin · 23/05/2023 11:57

If you're wearing a big white dress, I defy your husband to be NOT to say "Regardez vous le bear polar" at some stage Grin

Not strictly Cabin Pressure, but Roger Allan and Sir Ian McKellen will be in a play at the Theatre Royal in Windsor next month.
Frank and Percy – Theatre Royal Windsor

I'm not sure the two-hander appeals. Should I go? I'm scared it might shatter my illusions about Douglas.

My apologies, I don't know how that became Allan. Allam, Allam, Allam.
