Just that really. When the kids are asleep later, I want to chill out and listen to one :)

What kind of podcasts do you like? What have you listened to already? I’ve just finished listening to Through the Wall: the case against Luke Mitchell on Spotify. It’s asking if there’s been a miscarriage of Justice as he’s serving a life sentence for the murder of Jodie Jones when they were both 14.

Bible John: Creation of a serial killer on bbc sounds is also excellent.

Comfort Blanket. Talking about the films, TV shows, books or music which people go to again and again to feel safe, happy and welcome.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 04/02/2023 09:08

BBC Sounds is a good place to start browsing as they have lots of different types ( I'm just about to listen to The News Quiz, for example).

What sort of thing are you looking for and maybe we can suggest specific pods?

"Happy Place" ferne cotton
Adam Buxton
Elizabeth Day "how to fail"'

I’m enjoying Crushed by Margaret Cabourn-Smith at the moment. It’s about crushes and unrequited love. The guests are mainly female comedians. Very funny, the Rachel Parris one a couple of weeks ago was great.

Henddraig · 06/02/2023 09:20

Also, definitely Adam Buxton, that’s great. And a more serious one but with some funny moments is Heavyweight - American podcast where the host helps people make good something from their past.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 06/02/2023 09:32

I gave up on Adam Buxton after his fangirling of Charlotte Gainsbourg , it was the dreariest episode, she had nothing to say and I lost so much respect for him. I know it's daft, but I got the ick!

Henddraig · 06/02/2023 17:28

There are some episodes I start and never finish. And that was one 😁. I still have a massive soft spot for it overall though. Especially a Louis episode.

HerbalTeaAndCake · 13/02/2023 22:39

Yep it really depends who he's talking to & how interesting they are. But I have listened to LOADS of them now.

Not relaxing but BBC’s the Lazarus Heist. Thrilling and horrifying. You will be lots more proactive in dealing with passwords by the time you’ve listened to all of it. It’s such an insight into North Korea and its activities.

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 20/05/2023 11:33

I tend to like funny ones so things like BBC Sounds' It's a Fair Cop.

sunglasses · 05/06/2023 22:37

I just finished Shreds on BBC sounds. Amazingly well told account of a huge miscarriage of justice. I thought it was really well done. And also Vishal- also bbc sounds although that is v sad and quite disturbing so advanced warning if you are not looking for anything like that. Spooky ones are Uncanny and related podcasts The Wytch farm and Battersea Poltergeist. The Commune, Sweet Bobby and Hoaxed also good.

HarpyValley · 16/06/2023 22:10

Off Menu - comedians Ed Gamble and James Acaster invite a different guest each time into a “dream restaurant” to pick their favourite dishes.

userxx · 21/07/2023 13:57

Blind Plea is turning out to be excellent.
