Got a pair of wireless headphones for Christmas and am very excited about using them (safely) on dog walks.
I sometimes listen to and enjoy Radio 4 dramas but have no idea what podcasts I would enjoy.
Would love some recommendations!

Do you already know where you'll get your podcasts? I get most of mine from Apple. I somehow got addicted to true crime during the lockdowns. I'd play shows like Dateline and 48 Hours Mystery in the background just to hear voices!

If that sounds interesting and you're into Radio 4, maybe check out "Smoking Gun." Romola Garai is one of the narrators. I'm also a fan of Radio 4 drama and find I enjoy investigative shows like "Londongrad" and "The Great Post Office Trial" (two I particularly recommend). "You're Dead To Me" (a history podcast) is a good one too.

Anyway, if any of these sound good or you do a search on "BBC" and turn up things you like, find them and you should see suggestions for similar shows that enjoyed. It's like eating spaghetti. One leads to another. Good luck.

Ooh, forgot to add "Lady Killers" with Lucy Worsley. She does some great BBC history TV shows!

Antst thanks
Ive got bbc sounds.
Last night I started listening to The Boy in the Woods which is excellent albeit quite gritty.
Maybe true crime is my thing!
Do you have to pay for Apple podcasts?

@BaconAndAvocado, thank you for that suggestion. I'll look it up.

Apple podcasts are available through the iTunes store. The ones I listen to and suggested are all free. There are podcasts that cost but it's very easy to avoid them.

If you go to the iTunes store (or any other podcast outlet), you may see suggestions for the ones that aren't free. They often seem to be front and centre. Be aware though that the majority are free. You'll get along just fine without paying!

If you don't have an Apple device, that's fine. There are many other places to get podcasts.

Do you have amazon prime music? As there are some good podcasts on there.

Or try Global Player which is free too.

Agree BBC sounds has some great content too.

If you like newsy ones try:
The Rest is Politics
The News Agents

For Crime try:
Serial (series one, about Adnan Syed)
The Missing Crypto Queen
S Town
The teachers Pet
If you google top crime podcasts you get a whole list of popular ones if you like that genre.

I’m a podcast addict! I have so many on the go it’s hard to keep up, but it does mean I have something to listen to every day, and many of the short series I’ve listened to several times through.

My list - if I do a full description I’ll be here all night but you can look them up and see if they appeal!

On BBC Sounds
The Infinite Monkey Cage (science/comedy)
You’re Dead To Me (history/comedy)
The Confessional (interviews)
Now You’re Asking (discussion/comedy)
Evil Genius (history/personalities/comedy)
The Missing Crypto Queen (true crime)
Grounded With Louis Theroux (interviews)
The Lazarus Heist (North Korea)
The Coming Storm (US politics/QAnon)
Newscast (daily politics and current affairs)
Americast (US politics)
Boris (biographical profile of you know who)

On Spotify only
Parenting Hell with Rob Beckett and Josh Widdecombe (parenting/comedy)

Available on most podcast platforms (though I use Apple Podcasts)
The Rest is Politics (politics)
American History Hit (US history)
Crime Analyst (true crime but very victim focussed and discussion on VAWG)
Dan Snow’s History Hit (history)
Fake Doctors Real Friends (a listen along for the tv show Scrubs)
Kermode & Mayo’s Take (film reviews)
How To Fail With Elizabeth Day (interviews)
No Such Thing As A Fish (comedy)
Not Just The Tudors (history)
Real Crime Profile (true crime, fascinating and a real eye opener)
Taskmaster The Podcast (to accompany the TV Show)
The Game Changers: Fearless Women in Sport (sport)
The Rewatcher (Buffy The Vampire Slayer episodes reviewed)
The West Wing Weekly (The West Wing episodes reviewed)

That should give you enough to be going on with!

For The Rest Is Politics fans, they’re launching a new companion podcast on a Monday titled “TRIP: Leading” where they’ll put all their interviews. Michael Heseltine is first up.

I'm the host of a podcast called Waterfall. It's all about saving water, to help save money, protect the environment and combat climate change. It's an easy listen, full of tips to cut down on water use - and why it's important.
I'd love to get feedback on it. I work for a water consumer body, so we're not selling anything - just doing it to help people. You can find it here:
https://www.ccwater.org.uk/podcasts/
plus on Apple, Spotify, Deezer, Google, etc.

@smileyM, checking it out now!
