On Radio 4

They were discussing the late Robbie Coltrane.

I would imagine it was Miriam Margolyes!

NashvilleQueen · 15/10/2022 08:48

Miriam Margolyes. She's always very unpredictable so a risk on live radio! Bit of a national treasure

Foxfeeder · 15/10/2022 08:49

It was Miriam Margolyes. She has form. It made us laugh.

froginawell · 15/10/2022 08:50

That was very very funny. Poor presenters trying not to laugh too much!

MrsDoyle351 · 15/10/2022 08:53

Thanks - I should have guessed that really Grin

I didn’t hear it but I guessed it would be her! I would be very surprised if she was saying anything bad about Robbie Coltrane though.

I didn’t hear it but I guessed it would be her! I would be very surprised if she was saying anything bad about Robbie Coltrane though.

She was sitting where Jeremy Hunt had been sitting a minute before. She said - “When I saw him there I just said ‘you’ve got a helluva job, the best of luck’. What I really wanted to say was ‘fuck you"
😂

HollyHocks13 · 15/10/2022 09:03

She's fantastic - I love her!

ConnieSaks · 15/10/2022 09:07

@heldinadream she also said ‘you bastard’ after the ‘fuck you!’

Quite restrained for Miriam - she has said previously (regarding the fucking tories) is ‘fuck you cuntface’.

Got to love Miriam, particularly as she added ‘but you can’t say that can you’ - seems you can!

Ukholidaysaregreat · 15/10/2022 09:08

I love Miriam!

MrsLargeEmbodied · 15/10/2022 09:09

they must have known - she was a liability.
good for her though !

MaggieFS · 15/10/2022 09:09

That's brilliant Grin

NutbushShittyLimits · 15/10/2022 09:13

Was that yesterday? Oh I’ve got to
listen to that.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 15/10/2022 09:15

It was indeed Miriam Margoyles twitter.com/Haggis_UK/status/1581194854654038018

crumpet · 15/10/2022 09:24

How funny that it was in relation to Jeremy Hint who James Naughty famously referred to on air as Jeremy Cunt a few years ago which is just a joy to listen to

LizzieSiddal · 15/10/2022 09:26

She said it for the nation didn’t she 😂

FlippertyGibberts · 15/10/2022 09:27

@crumpet, I hadn't listened to that before 😄, I love that he can hardly stop himself dissolving into laughter afterwards.

avocadotofu · 15/10/2022 10:38

She is utterly amazing! She absolutely made my day!

myexisawanker · 15/10/2022 10:41

This thread reminds me of the old gaff made about Jeremy Hunt, by James Naughtie.

Hilarious hearing him trying to not laugh 😂

Timely about Jeremy Hunt you see

itrytomakemyway · 15/10/2022 10:44

The brilliant Miriam Margoyles. Her tribute to Robbie was wonderful. I think he would have been howling about her honesty regarding our latest Chancellor.

custardbear · 15/10/2022 10:48

Love her so much! Just watched End of Days this morning and felt she's never been in enough films for her talent! One of my favourites 🥰

Sharming · 15/10/2022 10:48

When they announced that Jeremy Hunt would be Chancellor yesterday, you could hear every presenter have a moment of hesitation just before saying his surname. I imagine they're all acutely aware of the risk of freudian slip, and terrified of doing it themselves.

Which is wonderful because they're all going to be saying his name a lot for the forseeable future!

lilyfire · 15/10/2022 10:49

That was so funny! She’s amazing! Good to hear her, as a lesbian, defending J K Rowling in the interview as well.
