I was a huge fan when I read this first time around but I was disappointed listening to it again, I’m afraid it hasn’t aged too well

They missed out my favourite bit, when he’s just arrived in Dover and he sleeps in a bus shelter wearing all of his clothes.

I listened to it today while doing the housework and enjoyed it. Kerry Shale's delivery was spot-on. Sorry it wasn't the whole book - Audible need to get on to this.

It is a shame the BBC version is edited so much

@echt I agree Kerrys natatoon is good , if uou want the whole book it's available on Audible and at 10.5 hrs long Iam pretty sure it's the whole book though it's not read by kerry .

Thanks for that. I've just had listen - not as good as Kerry Shale, far too dramatic. There's an abridged "Notes from a Small Island" read by Bryson, who has a shade of David Sedaris in his voice.
