Anyone listening to Room 5 on BBC Sounds? Interviews by Helena Merriman (same person who did the utterly awesome Tunnel 29).

It's about people who have had life changing diagnoses. Utterly fascinating. They also interview the doctors too. Well worth a listen.

I’m finding it fascinating and really well done- except I’m being driven mad by the use of the present tense eg ‘She walks into the room, she sits down’ etc to describe events that happened years ago. I assume it’s being done to make us feel more involved in the story as it unfolds but I can’t bear it.

@FaintlyMacabre I think that is Helena Merriman's style. Tunnel 29 was like that. It doesn't really bother me.

Have you listened to Tunnel 29? Its the best radio I think I've ever heard.

It is annoying though when something irritates you. I can't listen to Jon Ronson, I can't stand his voice! I really want to listen, I liked his book but I just can't do it!
