All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you look forward to Shula's first sermon, or other unusual things.

I went for the obvious thread title this time. Poor Ruairi! Whither now for Alice? Will Jennifer talk to Peggy soon? Good hint from Lilian the other day that at Peggy's age it's not wise to leave feuds bubbling on.

It's been a long time since we last heard from a certain Archer whose name I am not going to mention in case it acts as a summoning charm. Long may she remain unheard in the dairy or out in the fields, or better still somewhere near a sinkhole. That was a storyline that looked promising years ago and wasn't exploited as it could have been. Pah.

Oh I did like Tracey tonight.

I used to have pet rats. I took them to the vets in a cage, and only let them out in the consulting room.

If they had got onto the floor, not even Tracey would be able to catch them by diving at them (or if by some miracle she did, I suspect the rat would be rather the worse for wear).

We're going to end up with Moose being a permanent fixture, aren't we?

I keep hoping against hope that these storylines are purposeful; leading up to Jakob getting sacked for instance. If not, they are just embarrassing!

I still can’t work out what was the purpose of Rex and Tobey. Oh and Joy. Characters are becoming incidental to the farce.

Toby (a Fairbrother) has fathered a First Family / Brookfield heiress.

Rex (another) may eventually father a First Family offshoot / Lower Loxley heir/ess. (Who would be grandchild to the woman who had an affair with Fairfather ). 🤞🏽

As for Joy … Nah, I got nothin’.

I have great hopes for Rochelle.

I'm not convinced Rochelle actually exists.

So we are literally back where we started re the yacht and horse. We have a acquired a yappy dog and a broken mug. And Yacob is back to behaving how he did circa 2019. What a very strange waste of a week.

Well if they are not buying a horse or a yacht maybe they'll try something new to get their kicks. Perhaps they could sponsor some opera.

A terrier & a rat in a confined space would surely lead to a dead rat & possibly bitten humans?

I’m praying they don’t acquire either a yacht or a horse since either would doubtless lead to further out-of-Ambridge tedium. Dire. My prayer has been answered - but listeners could easily have skipped this week entirely and missed nothing (especially ifJacob’s phone call to Denise yields results). What was the point of it all - we’re back to five episodes, but even less is happening? I despair.

I don't think Rochelle exists either and still haven't worked out the point of Joy.

Rochelle is the ultimate Silent character.

Does she count as a silent character if she doesn’t live in the village and interact daily with speaking residents?

I really have not enjoyed any of the current storylines. The boat/horse sl is utter bobbins, Frances Barber was wasted (or at least should have been), Jakob's behaviour is unrealistic, I won't go on. It's all just shite.

Unless Lilian & Justin are about to inject funding into a refugee centre, or maybe apprentice scholarships for women who’ve lost their jobs during Covid, all this “What shall we do with our dosh?” is pretty tasteless.

If they really don’t know what to do with the money they could buy Ed & Emma a house so they don’t have to live in a mobile home forever.

So nothing has happened at all this week, we are at the same point as we were last Thursday night.

About the only thing to be said about this week's load of bobbins is that we were spared Weevils' dire prediction about Jazzer.

Jim isn't home yet; it could still come to pass.

This "what can we spend our money on" storyline is dreadful.

Has Lillian forgotten that she has a grandchild, Mungo?

He must be old enough for boarding school by now and I seem to remember that James and Leoni were often strapped for cash.

If they do have £'000,000s doing nothing, why not buy/build a beautiful place for Brian and Jenny to retire to.
