Inspired by another thread in here, which stations do you listen to?

I tend to listen to a mixture of R4/R2/6music and a bit of Absolute 90s but always open to trying a new station I listen to a lot of radio

Magic! To be fair I also listened to Magic in my 30s. Rediscovering it now.

SlidDownTheElephantsTrunk · 14/09/2021 22:49

Capital Extra or Kiss.

But mostly Audiobooks.

baggies · 14/09/2021 22:49

5 live, talkSPORT and radio 4

sessell · 14/09/2021 22:55

Mellow magic for background. R4 and LBC for news. R6 music for Carys. Classic while I'm having dinner. Also Sounds and lots of podcasts for walks.

highwoodwitch · 15/09/2021 11:08

Radio Caroline

Guacamole001 · 03/12/2021 08:10

R4 and R2 plus Gem a local Leicester radio station.

Badbadbunny · 03/12/2021 08:30

Radio Lancashire and occasionally radio 2.

StickWaver · 03/12/2021 08:47

In the car - Radio 3, Classic FM, or 5 Live

At home - Internet radio. Particularly;
France Musique Classic Plus
YLE Klassinen
Classic Praha
Viva Classica
Radio Swiss Classic
Classical Music Network (Mexico)

You can have great fun listening around the globe on Radio Garden

Gearedtoyou · 03/12/2021 08:48

Oh good question. I have R4 on most of the time because everything else annoys me, but it would be good to find a "suitable" music station.

sandgrown · 03/12/2021 08:49

Radio 2 and just discovered Boom radio

maofteens · 03/12/2021 08:59

59 and I have Radio 4 on at home whenever I'm there (though have to turn it off during some comedy shows). The other day very interesting listening to Woman's Hour about abortion when my two Irish fence guys were on a break - they certainly had a few things to say!
I also listen to Chill, Heart 80s, Jazz FM and Smooth in the car.

steppemum · 03/12/2021 09:04

radio 4
unless kids in the car, and then their music

Mifacagare · 03/12/2021 09:11

I'm 51. Chris Moyles on Radio X in the morning for a bit of laughter and banter to wake me up - I understand he's a bit marmite though. Afternoons are Steve Wright on Radio 2 or Scala Radio. Then Simon Mayo's Drive time on Greatest hits radio, love the Confessions and I know all the tunes he plays, so kitchen dancing while I prepare dinner. In the evening it's my favourite, 6 Music and it's on all at the day weekend. Sunday mornings are great with Cerys Matthews, and I love Tom Robinson on a Sunday evening too.

MadDeleine · 03/12/2021 09:15

I wonder why the age bracket? Anyway I prefer sporty but I listen to the radio to know about new bands or past musicians I have not discovered - favourite genres: dance music (esp trance hard house and techno), baroque, minimalist, 19th c opera, some goth and very. very occasionally pop.

If I know of good programmes on Radio 4 I'll catch them on the Sounds app. I like to wake up with Radio 3 on the weekends and clean the house with Radio 1 dance classics.

So, I prefer spotify but:

Radio One Dance
Radio one XR
Radio Trance
Radio 3
Radio 4

MadDeleine · 03/12/2021 09:16

sporty = SPOTIFY - autocorrect fail.

MuguetRose · 03/12/2021 09:18

R4, Classic FM, Lbc, Heart 80s,

Disfordarkchocolate · 03/12/2021 09:20

Ken Bruce on R2. A bit more of R4 now Woman's Hour has developed a shiny feminist spine.

Herbie0987 · 03/12/2021 09:20

R1, R2, local radio, Planet Rock, Gold, Heart, Absolute

NoLongerATeacher · 03/12/2021 09:23

@Peridot1

Radio 2 during the day and I switch to Greatest Hits Radio for Simon Mayo’s Drive Time.
Same - although I am increasingly switching earlier as I think Steve Wright has gone completely weird!
annonymousse · 03/12/2021 09:32

I've recently switched to greatest hits radio originally because of Simon mayo's drive time show but found I liked it so it's now my default station. Otherwise radio 2 and mellow magic

wolfstarling · 03/12/2021 09:34

LBC, Times, Radio 4(Not that much nowadays) and World Service.

sashagabadon · 03/12/2021 09:40

I quite like Times Radio and often prefer it to the equivalent show on radio 4 but it does annoy me too at times.
I actually listen a lot to podcasts now, less interruptions and arguments between presenters and guests and a long form interview that is usually good natured. Much more enjoyable!

Unescorted · 03/12/2021 09:44

4/5/6/podcasts/ Spotify (my family make me playlists)

Takingtigermountain · 03/12/2021 09:52

R6, R4 and also some BBC Sounds like Uncanny , Crime podcasts etc

IsThisNameTaken · 03/12/2021 09:52

Virgin breakfast show
Radio 2 from 10am until 2pm (have to switch off when Steve Wright comes on!)
