Did anyone catch Steve Allen this morning? I am just listening on catch up now and he sounds very subdued and not his usual self. His show feels a bit "different" this morning somehow. Anyone else notice this?

I don't listen to him but one of my neighbours is a big fan.

I was going to ask my neighbour. I hope SA is ok. He's one of the founders of LBC, I think.

I thought that too yesterday Katherine, he didn’t seem quite his usual self. It’s weird how you end up being concerned about someone you don’t even know!! He was off for quite a while unwell recently and I wondered if he was poorly again. He sounded a lot better today :) We like listening and trying to work out what random phrase Eddie Mair will choose for his sound bite.

@Etihad Glad i wasn't imagining it. I have to be honest and say sometimes i think he goes to far. That said, i wouldn't wish him ill. He had been poorly lately. I have been listening to him since the 80's but over the last few yrs i have started to feel a bit put off by some of what he says. Its a shame as i did used to love his show.

Has anyone heard any more about Steve Allen? It has been quite a while that he's been off now and I am hoping it isn't anything serious for him.

He's been ill. I don't know any more.

I saw a tweet from him today saying he will be back on air this coming Tuesday. People didn't seem sure if he has been unwell, or if he was suspended for making a racist comment about Meghan Markle on his last show before going off air.

I still haven't seen my neighbour, but seeing as the neighbour is mixed race and such a fan, allegations of racism seem odd.

Apparently he said something about Meghan Markle only being able to cook southern fried chicken and there were alot of complaints.
