I miss iplayer so much. I use the Sounds app and its started as an awful app and it still hasn't improved. When I try to scroll up it doesn't respond. It will only scroll every other time I swipe. Episodes. Why aren't episodes in order or the episode number shown without having to click on every single episode. Is this just an android problem? Does it work fine on iPhone? I used to listen to iplayer all the time but now I find I'm using Borrow Box or Spotify podcasts. Surely, this could be solved quite easily. I think the whole app feels like someone on work experience designed it. Does anyone agree?

I agree. I don't really know how to just see what's there either. Like on iplayer. I wish more choice was on there. Is it just supposed to be recent radio?

I miss the old iPlayer too.

Thank you. I thought it was just me and my hatred of change but it really isn't a user friendly app. I agree about the choice too, there used to be so much more. Seems like things are on there for ages with very little updating. I like listening to crime but it annoys me when they suddenly put 3 different Agatha Christine's on after months of none. Surely they could be spread out. I'm sure it can't all be blamed on Covid as Radio 4 must have a massive back catalogue. The scrolling issues drive me to distraction. Mine also has no consistency regarding next episode. Sometimes it will play and sometimes I have to manually click on it. I tried complaining when it was first released but they made no attempt to correct it. Radio listeners hold little importance with the BBC. I will have to continue to look elsewhere for my entertainment the same way I do to get my News and Current Affairs.

That's weird because episodes are in date order & scrolling is easy on my ipod BBC Sounds. I don't know about autoplay of next episode... it's not a feature I look for anyway.

The episodes aren't given numbers so you have to click on each one and read the description to see if that's the one that's next or one you've listened to. Mine certainly are often not in order and don't all show orange if you've listened to them. I listen in bed to try to go to sleep, so its infuriating having to keep opening the glaring white screen in the dark and scroll and scroll and scroll. It also takes ages to load when you open it, it feels like its struggling just to show content. Everyday it tells me there's been a problem and I need to go to my downloads instead. Maybe its Android it dislikes. Its just not a good experience.

I agree, I just find it confusing. I also would use it to regularly listen to dramatisations of novels but haven't so far found it easy. I also had to search really hard to find a wide range of music programmes.

I am also on Android.
