Nothing like a podcast to make me really appreciate radio journalists

I'm listening to a terrible under edited podcast where the presenters are rambling on. And on. They don't finish sentences, they're not really having a conversation but they're doing monologues, there's not much to it, they are both doing terrible vocal fry... Would love a proper editor to tear into it and cut it to a tight 30 minutes that has a point.

Which one was it?

1000 grains of s*nd, which is quite niche about Bill forsyth movies, so there's no reason why it would be perfect. But I've listened to others and thought the same. Podcasts which are really radio programmes by another name (You're Dead To Me and Amerikast to name 2 I like) are better imo.

Oh god yes. I listened to that Giovanna Fletcher "interview" with the Duchess of Cambridge a few years back and it was AWFUL! Couldn't understand the hype around her (Giovanna), her podcast, or the interview, it was such poor journalism and a really lacklustre podcast episode.

Give me LBC any day of the week over that crap!

Missed that one, think I'm quite glad! Interviewing technique is really complex I think (not that I'd know) and there's a reason why there are only a few blockbuster interviewers...
