I have recently started to listen to podcasts when walking the dog and also when cleaning / cooking etc around the house and am really enjoying them. It's probably one of the few positives that has emerged from these blimmin lockdowns!

Can you recommend any good ones please? Xmas ShockHmm

Hey, we’ve just recorded our first podcast. We’re a group of 7 new mums who are talking about our experiences being pregnant, giving birth and raising babies during a pandemic. If you want more info, please give me a shout

Vthirtyone · 15/01/2021 14:45

What are you into?
I like
Off Menu (comedy &food)
Adam Buxton (interviews and rambling chat)
In Focus from the Guardian (current affairs)
Ear Hustle (American prison broadcast)
This American Life (America, current affairs, stories)
Grounded with Louis Theroux (interviews)
Any of them appeal? Or tell us ones you do like.

theneverendinglaundry · 15/01/2021 15:43

My favourites are Adam Buxton, Blindboy and Louis Theroux.

Scittle · 16/01/2021 21:46

Bad People is very good. A comedian and a psychologist discuss true crime cases

tobee · 23/01/2021 06:18

Your Own Back Yard
Lady Justice
The Storyteller: Murder Most Foul (season 1)
Paradise
Death in Ice Valley

fishonabicycle · 14/04/2021 21:13

Behind the Bastards has some good episodes.
Secret world of slimming clubs is very funny.

Shazz20 · 14/04/2021 21:52

Hey!!
If you like true crime definitely Serial season 1 & I've finally found something just as good - it's called Crime junkie... every episode is a different true crime story & there's no long drawn out intro or lots of talking; they get straight to it! (First episode is a bit slow but after that it's amazing!!) GrinSmile

Scittle · 15/04/2021 19:33

I saw Sword and Scale recommended on here and I love it. True crime with lots of original recordings and sound mixed in with commentary. Some of them are very dark, so caution needed if you are sensitive, but fascinating and really hooks you in with the genuine audio.

Tisforptarmigan · 22/04/2021 20:40

I like

the news quiz on radio 4,
Cautionary tales with Tim Harford
More or less - radio 4
Older and wider
Dan snows History hit

damekindness · 03/05/2021 09:35

For any fans of St Elwicks and Beef and Dairy network I would thoroughly recommend the new podcast from the same people - Three Bean Salad. First episode is available now and is very funny

Whilst I'm not normally keen on the three blokes talking about stuff style of podcast this is gentler and funnier than the usual trope

Landlubber2019 · 09/05/2021 22:11

I am currently enjoying Josh widdicome and Rob Beckett parenting in lockdown - very funny!

bendmeoverbackwards · 09/06/2021 21:14

@Landlubber2019 agreed, very funny!

HairyToity · 01/09/2021 08:17

If you like true crime, I can recommend:

my favourite murder
Murder squad
Criminal
Crime junkie

OhWhyNot · 23/10/2021 14:04

Bad Women

It’s the retelling of the five women to have been murdered by Jack the Ripper

It’s focussed on their lives not the gruesome murders

I also love Crime Junkie, Stuff You Should Know, Short Histories and Dark Histories

Motherofchickens1 · 06/11/2021 00:24

Mark Steel - What the fuck is going on. Talks about current affairs, has a guest on each week, its very funny

Amelia90 · 07/11/2021 23:33

As you're walking your dog whilst not listen to "Walking the dog" by Emily Dean. She's a great interviewer and basically chats about dogs and life with a variety of famous individuals whilst walking their dogs.

CaveMum · 15/11/2021 18:15

My current podcasts are a mixed bunch:

You’re Dead To Me (history/comedy)
Not Just The Tudors (history)
Real Crime Profile (true crime)
Crime Analyst (true crime)
Parenting Hell (comedy)
How To Fail (interviews)
Taskmaster (comedy)

If you’re a fan of The West Wing I highly recommend West Wing Weekly which is a few years old but an excellent listen covering every single episode.
