Oh he's been registered already. Maybe Chloe has a baby Ben growing inside her. Which will be a complete disaster. Unlike the Fairbaby.

ppeatfruit · 27/03/2020 09:33

Thanks Questions It seemed to me that yesterday afternoon's\Wed's was pre recorded\spliced.

SurpriseSparDay · 27/03/2020 09:39

I thought it was last night’s that sounded very much as if Peggy was recorded in a different place and spliced into everything else. Her volume and sound quality was completely different to the rest of the broadcast.

They did say a while ago that they couldn’t risk making June Spenser travel to the Mailbox right now.

ppeatfruit · 27/03/2020 09:43

I tend to listen to the repeats Spar I will listen this aft. and then comment!!

ppeatfruit · 28/03/2020 08:54

Well the Peggy and Lynda scene was bizzarre THAT sounded spliced but the kids at the club scene didn't IMO.

It seems that the SW is making the 2 "OLD' matriachs into bunmbling idiots. Though my dm at 92 IS getting more and more confused I suppose that they have had a long time being nearly completely compis mentis it's about time!

Poor Ben.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 29/03/2020 20:16

Got a late arrival here:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update March 29-April 2
The dark forces currently controlling Ambridge certainly cooked up trouble in the Grey Gables kitchen, but it doesn’t seem anywhere near as dire as it might have now that we’ve all been served up something nasty from Virus World.
Celebrations seem a long way from anyone’s mind, and poor old Kirsty, already having had one blighted wedding, looks to be heading towards another. Should she carry on with her plans, and will the much troubled Philip be in any mood for the plighting of troths?
Celebrations over the arrival of Xander’s birth certificate are somewhat muted as Adam, on top of everything else, is short of sleep and feeling his age.
Meanwhile, Lee gets in an awkward situation, and Gavin - whom we’ve never liked - gets worrying information.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 29/03/2020 20:16

I do hope for the worst for Gavin: nasty little man.

SurpriseSparDay · 30/03/2020 16:47

I wonder if Roy's uncomfortable request will be for a meeting with Oliver to discuss a claim for compensation for his work-based injury.

Looking forward to hearing Chloe. I guess her Sunday afternoon stroll might just happen to take her past Brookfield ...

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 30/03/2020 19:40

Now we know about both of those things, after today. Roy has to find Blake, and Chloe works at the hospital Lynda is in.

Neither particularly interesting, in fact!

SurpriseSparDay · 31/03/2020 06:16

Only - Blake will spill the beans to Roy and once Philip finds this out he'll have to kill them both!

Chloe might be useful as they move into Ambridge with virus ...

ppeatfruit · 31/03/2020 09:30

Yes Spar Philip will turn out to be a hunter (with a gun licence) and massacre the whole of Ambridge and the new estate then kill himself. Kirstie will warn Roy and they'll run off together!!!!!!

The New Archers will be called the Kirstie and Roy show.

LampLass · 02/04/2020 20:51

From the Radio Times:
Grey Gables is reopening its doors, but Oliver is still struggling with all that's happened.
Despite Roy and Tracy proving to be a tower of strength, an encounter with Robert might well end up making him feel worse. And all this before Roy pays a visit to the hospital...
Lillian recruits Freddie for support at the B&B, but with the weight of a confession still hanging heavy, will Freddie be able to cope- or is he set to betray a confidence and reveal all?
Meanwhile, the Grundys and Carters are planning the surprise party that Keira asked for, but it's touch and go as to whether Emma will be able to put her feelings to one side for the sake of her children.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/04/2020 21:06

It has got really complicated to sort out what should be where, because of the episodes being moved from week to week, but this is what I think is happening:

BBC one-liners 5 - 9 April
05 Apr Robert’s plan backfires and there’s a near miss at Home Farm.
06 Apr There’s an awkward encounter for Roy and Emma makes her feelings known.
07 Apr Philip attempts to maintain calm and Emma feels awkward.
08 Apr Roy remains oblivious and Kirsty finds herself double booked.
09 Apr Oliver struggles as Grey Gables re-opens and Lilian rallies the troops.

Lee but not Helen? He must be working at the hospital.

MikeUniformMike · 03/04/2020 19:58

He's a physio, so will be treating Blake and Lynda.
He's probably the only physiotherapist in Borsetshire.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/04/2020 14:27

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update April 5-9
What a barrier the Mighty Am is! While we sit in solitary peering through the window and watching the tumble weed roll by, Ambridgers desport and mingle.
They plan parties that don’t involve sitting in front of a screen in a party hat, with one forlorn and guttering birthday candle; they rub shoulders, exchange gossip and, in the case of Roy and Oliver, start putting two and two together.
Leonie, presumably having gone through some kind of quarantine plus a ritual dunking in the sheep dip, comes from the outside world. She’s arrived in Ambridge to help her father in his time of need, but seems set to make things even worse for Robert.
Meanwhile, Tracy sets her steely gaze on victory, and Philip gets a grilling.

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 04/04/2020 14:34

Exciting ...

And thank God for the Am!

Thanks, Asking.

MikeUniformMike · 04/04/2020 15:58

Thanks Asking.

MollyButton · 04/04/2020 16:58

Thanks Asking I think we all wish we were the other side of the Am

MikeUniformMike · 04/04/2020 19:18

I'm quite happy here apart from TA has gone all weird this week.

Imagine being locked down in Ambridge.
I'm volunteering to stay at Lower Poxley.

The last place I'd like to be is Rickyard Cottage then Brookfield.

Maybe Brian and Jenny will move to the Beechwood Estate. I think that Kirsty will end up in Rotaboy's arms before long.

ppeatfruit · 05/04/2020 08:35

Mike Only this week !!!!!!!! It's not the same show and hasn't been for ,it seems like years, but can only have been like it for 6 to 8 months or so.

Every single plot device (apart from heavy handed 'humour' like the bright orange car that poor Ben was given, he's become the humour provider ) is engineered to provide us with over emotional DRAMA .because for some effing reason that's what THEY think we want.

Funny to think that Covid has given the SWs drama on a plate!!!! They didn't need to concoct it!!!!!!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/04/2020 12:38

And they can't use it because they can't get people together to record it. They must be raging furious about that: the only BBC programme that isn't totally covicentric.

JudyCoolibar · 05/04/2020 15:51

Well, not the only BBC programme. They're equally struggling in Casualty and Holby City with an entire hospital that knows nothing of Covid. I don't watch Eastenders, what are they doing about it?

Longer term one liners:

12 Apr: Harrison attempts to get to the bottom of recent events, and Freddie has something on his mind.
13 Apr: Robert faces friction at the B&B, and Shula proves a bad influence.
14 Apr: Roy receives some interesting information, and Tracy tries to get her own way.
15 Apr: Alistair makes an unusual offer, and Tracy wants the big scoop.
16 Apr: Ed gets a wake-up call, and has Lynda found her voice again?
19 Apr: Roy has a revealing encounter and Lilian takes charge.
20 Apr: Shula faces some home truths, and Philip feels spontaneous.
21 Apr: Will Phoebe get the better of Justin Elliott? Tracy offers new blood to the cricket team.
22 Apr: Mild mannered Robert forgets himself, and Gavin Moss is struggling to keep control.
23 Apr: Jim offers support to a friend, and Shula has come through an almighty challenge.

Too much Shula really, I suppose it's the Bishop's weekend or whatever it was she was talking about the other day.

Motoko · 05/04/2020 17:10

Shula, a bad influence? That won't go down well with the bishops.

ppeatfruit · 06/04/2020 08:32

Thanks Asking (for the round up before Judy's ) and for yours J. Sorry my annoyance at myself for still bothering to listen to TA is making me impolite Grin Hmm
