IMO SOME people are psychologically stuck somewhere they were badly treated in their childhood (they can't , or won't, see the result of their behaviour on those around them). Making them narcs. Whenever they were born.

Were your grandparents kind to you?

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 22nd - 25th February 2021
Johnny and Jim may be looking out for Jazzer, but their efforts aren’t being appreciated. Johnny fears his mate is making a big mistake, while Jim is desperate to do the right thing, but tensions are destined to erupt.
At Brookfield, David and Ruth are picking at a scab from an old wound. Can the matter be settled? Ben and Ruairi, meanwhile, are hatching a plan - but will anyone take their concept seriously?
Kirsty heads off on a mission before facing her demons. And Chris admits to Alice that he told Harrison about her drink problem. But it seems doubtful she’ll agree that a problem shared is a problem halved.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 22nd - 25th February 2021
Sex, as we know, has reared its ugly head over at the cosy ménage à trois that is Greenacres. Nights are broken by the sound of shenanigans, and the morning routine of coffee and crosswords is ruined. Jim has tried to cope with this intrusion into his bachelordom, but it’s not been easy for the old buffer. Jazzer confides to Johnny about his current squeeze, but Johnny doesn’t like what he hears.
There’s tension, too, over at Brookfield, where an old bone is chewed over, with David and Ruth making an effort to end the matter once and for all.
Kirsty bustles about with her various displacement activities, trying to avoid facing up to her demons, while Alice is shocked to hear that Chris has discussed her demons with the local constabulary.

(Phew, the DDOS let me in again)

Thank you Asking . I'm enjoying the Grundy's granddaughter becoming an environmental activist\vegan ! Good luck to her!

Are Tracey and Jazz at it like knives now? Grin

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/02/2021 11:05

No, ppeat, they had a blazing row and Jazzer cut his nose off to spite his face and told her to forget it. If I recall correctly, Jade (in the cast list this week) is the new squeeze.

Thanks for the spoilers, Asking! I wonder what David and Ruth are going to be chewing over. Too much to hope it will be Sam the cowman, leading to a massive family upset and the sale of Brookfield ...

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 21/02/2021 11:14

I can't think of anything other than Sam (and Sophie!) that David and Ruth have had long-standing disagreements over. But whatever would prompt them to revisit that era?Confused

Thanks, Asking!

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/02/2021 15:25

Thanks Asking Flowers

ppeatfruit · 22/02/2021 10:12

Thanks Gasp How Covid safe is Jazzer then ? Grin

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/02/2021 10:20

Covid? What's that, ppeat? Not something they need worry about in Ambridge, anyway. The Magic Waters of the Am protect all and reduce IQ by many points too, but we don't need to mention that part.

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 22/02/2021 10:27

Maybe it's a warning story line! Thinking about it Kirstie doesn't seem to be concerned about it either. (we are supposed to think she's bright , oh are we?).

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 27/02/2021 16:12

I must put something here so that people don't see a spoiler as they scroll around, but there's not a lot to say really.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 1st - 4th March
Jim Lloyd may be a learned man, but there’s no university degree that can help when it comes to dealing with Jazzer. The Prof may want to make a good impression for the sake of his friend, but it just leads to tension all round. And when Jim seeks an honest opinion from Alistair, he may not like what he hears.
Elsewhere, Harrison delivers some unexpected news to Kirsty. And over at Home Farm, Ruairi’s controversial suggestion has got both Brian and Adam thinking. Plus, Susan and Clarrie are both determined to make their presence felt where Lynda’s latest project is concerned. Is that a disgruntled Snell sniff we hear?

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 1st - 4th March 2021
Yet again we find ourselves trapped in the triangular relationship at the Old Police House now known as Greenacres. Will we ever be free of it? Once Jazzer’s main interests in life were his milk round, pigs, and an enthusiastic consumption of banned substances. Now that the Scotsman has taken up an arresting new hobby, events in the former nick spiral out of control.
Kirsty’s life, already a whirlwind of catastrophes, seems to be going the same way as PC Burns delivers some unexpected news, while a family surprise puts Alice in a spin.
Meanwhile Susan and Clarrie throw themselves into Lynda’s project, and Ruairi’s wheeze catches Brian and Adam’s attention.

Yes my sentiments exactly Gaspode to Asking

The SWs seemed to be trying very hard to make Jade (ahem) ,to put it mildly, unpleasant. I agree that they do seem to have misogyonistic tendencies.

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 02/03/2021 10:00

The 9th and 10th of this month look interesting - someone facing a terrifying situation, then tension mounting at the hospital ...

(Was reading ahead on the TA site.)

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/03/2021 11:29

It will be nothing of any particular importance, on previous form for the spoilers.

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/03/2021 11:37

I think it will be the much-heralded Dreadful Accident finally befalling Krissiffur.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/03/2021 12:55

Surely Alice at the hospital?

OP posts:
PursuingProxemicExactitude · 02/03/2021 14:06

Dunno, but if Johnny's scrapyard supercar isn't involved I'll ... be extremely surprised.

ILoveShula · 03/03/2021 20:45

I think that Thursday is when Alice slips off the wagon. Not sure what the family surprise will be unless it's Ruairi's idea and Adam's objections.

I'm still hoping for the dedding of the Chrysalis, but I'm hoping she'll be named Magna and that she doesn't die in vain.

I need to get out more

Nah, he's had his Dreadful Accident already, it's someone else's turn. I reckon it's premature labour for Alice. On the 11th, Susan is having concerns over a loved one, so that's either Chris or the grandchild. On the 16th, recent events are taking their toll on Alice, on the 18th Chris is attempting to be supportive, and that's as far as the one liners go.
BoreOfWhabylon · 05/03/2021 11:06

You may be right Nith. Just as long as we get something interesting and not more Mystery Play stuff.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 06/03/2021 14:16

This is the various stuff we can expect next week:

BBC One Liners
08 Mar Negotiations commence at Brookfield and Neil comes to a decision.
09 Mar One resident finds themselves in a terrifying situation and the pressure is on for Jazzer.
10 Mar Tension mounts at the hospital and Jim extends the hand of friendship.
11 Mar Susan has concerns over a loved one, and Clarrie lands herself in trouble.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 8th - 11th March
A year since the blast at Grey Gables, we're promised by Archers bosses that one villager will find themselves "in an equally terrifying situation". What? As perilous as an exploding hotel? It seems hard to believe. But the ensuing drama will result in a hospitalisation as well as plenty of guilt and recrimination.
Over at Brookfield, Kirsty unveils the next stage of Lynda's plan to David & Ruth, while Ben & Ruairi's concept for the future is also outlined. Elsewhere, unsure whether to go on with her ordination studies, Shula gets advice from Alistair. Plus, Jazzer and Jim continue to be a warring odd couple, but will a sudden crisis result in a reconciliation?

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 8th - 11th March 2021
That Clarrie has been running her mouth again. The soft-hearted Mrs Grundy has few faults, but she is a teensy bit inclined to over share. This week, the habit gets her into hot water, but compared to the boiling cauldron other Ambridgers are in, Clarrie’s troubles seem tepid.
The grim anniversary of the Grey Gables explosion is made worse by another terrifying event that stirs up fear, guilt, and recriminations, while for one villager, life will never be the same again.
Shula agonises over continuing her ordination studies; Neil, a man not given to rashness, makes a surprise decision; Jazzer and Jim remain at loggerheads; and Kirsty reveals to some Archers the next stage of Lynda’s Big Plan.

#########################################

Looks to me as if Susan's concern over a loved one might be to do with Neil making a surprise decision rather than the hospital thing. Which would mean the hospital is not necessarily to do with Alice/Christopher.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/03/2021 14:46

Thanks AQATT Wonder if it will be someone succumbing to COVID?
