Radio Times Ambridge Diary 11th - 14th January 2021
Harrison questions his own abilities following recent seismic events, but can the village bobby move on or is it time for a big rethink?
Kirsty, too, is feeling the after-effects as she faces stiff criticism from some Ambridge residents. But as she tries to put things right, there’s a danger that guilt will get the better of her. Enter Jim with a rescue plan …
Jazzer’s nocturnal activities have him tiptoeing around Greenacres, but it’s not a given that his bedfellow is so discreet.
And later in the week, there are gasps all round when something unexpected turns up on the doorstep.
Elsewhere, Helen says exactly what’s on her mind.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 11th - 14th January 2021
There’s an old Scottish prayer that goes: ‘From ghoulies and ghosties and long leggedy beasties and things that go bump in the night, Good Lord, deliver us’. One of those beasties bumping about in the night is Jazzer, making a great deal of noise over at Greenacres, trying to be discreet.
The Scotsman’s nocturnal wanderings, however, won’t be the only thing troubling Greenacres’ odd ménage à trois this week. Harrison is also creeping around carefully, seized by doubt over his sleuthing abilities, now that he realises what’s been going on under his nose. Still, the flame-haired copper does manage to run into one of Ambridge’s many dodgy characters - but will Brian be able to talk his way out of trouble this time?
########################################

I doubt very much that Brian has done anything particularly deserving of Harrison's censure, myself. So what on earth is that bit about?

As for Harrison doing a big re-think -- well, perhaps he could try a change of career to one which doesn't require actual thought? It might suit him better.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 18th - 21st January 2021
Kirsty is still trying to make up for the actions of her other half (gang-master Philip) and is about to cause Helen some consternation. Will Kirsty see sense before landing herself in even more trouble?
The Brookfield Archers face the consequences of unwittingly using slave labour when their culpability is exposed online. But when David and Pip try to discover who is behind the damning post, they get a shock that may have long-lasting repercussions.
At Lower Loxley, Vince and Elizabeth - aka 2020’s unlikeliest love match - are a bad influence on each other. But, by the week’s end, expect Lizzie to be banjaxed by a controversial suggestion.

PoulePouletteEternellement · 15/01/2021 01:23

Ugh! Scumbag Russ but no Lily. So talking to Elizabeth, and maybe Vince. Just the thought is vomit inducing.

Thanks, Asking.

Do they mean Banjaxed? It seems a bit extreme (just had to search what it meant).

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 15/01/2021 12:50

We can hope they did: I like the idea of Elizabeth being ruined or destroyed by a mere suggestion, however controversial. But no, I doubt it really.

ILoveShula · 15/01/2021 20:50

Thanks Asking. I admit to being wrong about the bunting.

Maybe Mince will suggest that CMR is useless and should be sacked.

I'd rather hear Russ than Lily any day. Russ is a terrible human being but at least he's interesting.

Finally got the Mail with this week's spoilers, rather late:

################################################
Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 18th - 21st January 2021
They take no leave and work long shifts in the ever expanding section of the Borsetshire police station given over to the nest of vipers that is Ambridge.
Borsetshire officers took only a minor interest in the village, and the extent of their investigations consisted of rifling through a well-thumbed file of index cards, most of them bearing the name Horrobin. Now, mug shots linked by a web of string fill the walls, and no Ambridger seems free from guilt.
Kirsty tries to untangle Phillip’s many machinations, but Helen who has herself done time fears that Kirsty is getting enmeshed in trouble.
Meanwhile, over at Brookfield, they live in fear of the strong arm of the law pounding at their once blameless door.

Arobase · 19/01/2021 16:41

Can't say I'm looking forward to hearing Peep's half-arsed moans about Rex (presumably) and attempts at revenge.

Next week's spoilers:

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 25th - 28th January 2021
It’s a busy old week for Freddie, who first has to mediate between his mum Elizabeth and his auntie Shula, who are at loggerheads. It’ll be a tough job as the tension between the sisters shows no sign of abating. Then there’s the visitor to Lower Loxley, who takes a sudden and rather obvious interest in Freddie. Can he evade the clutches of his admirer?
Tom is worried about Kirsty, but when he offers his ex a shoulder to cry on, he soon finds himself in over his head.
Pip makes a shocking decision after digesting some advice, Phoebe referees between two grown men, plus a new friendship forms as two villagers share an emotional evening …

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 25th - 28th January 2021
Freddie, one of Ambridge’s many ex-cons, has spent the years since his release flitting about the village, trying to bring peace and joy to all. You have to hand it to the lad, he does it with charm and style, unlike his prissy Auntie Shula. She finds herself on the wrong end of Elizabeth’s rage and so, once again, Freddie has to put on his peace-keeper’s helmet and try to get both sides negotiating.
While Freddie tries to calm down the warring sisters, he finds he has another fight on his hands, trying to escape the clutches of an admirer in the many dark nooks and corners of Lower Loxley.
Meanwhile, Tom tries to bring a bit of peace to the much troubled Kirsty, but gets bogged down in no-man’s land.

I suppose Freddie's admirer must be Bridezilla Stephanie.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/01/2021 14:27

Thanks, Asking. Yes, indeed, must be Stephanie. How odd. Why are Shula and Elizabeth going to be at loggerheads, I wonder? Baffled by which two villagers are going to share an emotional evening. No Russ this week, I see. I suspect that means he's back next week with Lily. Hope so, anyway.

OP posts:
Arobase · 23/01/2021 18:49

With Phoebe and Rex in the cast, I guess Pip's shocking decision is going to be getting out of the rewilding. I suspect she'll be no loss whatsoever. Except, did she persuade the Dopeys to supply some land, and would that go back with her?

ILoveShula · 23/01/2021 19:47

Thanks Asking.

Natasha is in the cast, so that's good. Bridezilla takes a shine to Freddie. Maybe Phroebe and Rex end up running the rewilding without Pip, and the two villagers with be Curesedy and Tom.

ILoveShula · 23/01/2021 19:47

will not with

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 29/01/2021 17:43

We really need the Friday episode back ...

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 29/01/2021 18:22

I'd agree about the Friday episode. I can live quite easily without Sunday, and have Friday evening repeated on Monday just after 2 in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, next week:

02 Feb Tom puts his foot down and Tony gets a surprise.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 1st - 4th February 2021 I always think of Tony as having an Eeyore-ish outlook on life, so it’ll be fun to hear how he reacts to the prospect of turning 70. The family is hoping that it’ll be a day to remember, but might one person’s input end up making it memorable for all the wrong reasons? Tensions are running high between Tom and Natasha, as she continues her efforts to help Kirsty. Tom is determined to stop her, but how far will he go? Elsewhere, Tracy is forced to choose between helping a friend in need and going on a date. Plus, the press manages to pick up on Philip’s story - and one journalist in particular will stop at nothing to get the scoop.

I have no idea who Rebecca is. Will I care?

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 29/01/2021 18:27

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 1st - 4th February 2021
Is it better to be married to the Sausage King or to have been jilted by him? The alliance that’s been forged between Natasha and Kirsty has Tom sizzling, so he sets out to break up the friendship between the current Mrs Banger and the nearly-was Mrs Banger.
Other friendships bring trouble to Ambridge this week as Tracy, rather oddly for her, puts a friend’s needs before her own, and finds the terrible truth of the phrase ‘No good deed goes unpunished’.
While all this is going on, the Bridge Farm Archers try to make Tony’s 70th special, Oliver tries to save Grey Gables, and a journalist noses around the village on the trail of a scoop about the extensive use of slave labour in Ambridge.
