That would certainly be interesting.

MikeUniformMike · 30/08/2020 14:04

Thanks @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime.

At least no spoilers for wigs and little blue pills. Looking forward to hearing the welsh cowboys again.

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 31/08/2020 19:58

Hmph! So I wasn't quite right about the Alice / Ed story. I guess this misunderstanding has more comedy potential?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/09/2020 19:44

08 Sep Lilian issues some home truths and Susan has a mystery to solve.
09 Sep Lynda attempts to salvage her situation and Kenton is forced to intervene.
10 Sep Susan’s plan looks set to have dramatic consequences and Jolene goes into battle.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 7th - 10th September 2020
Jolene is attempting to drum up custom at The Bull and she knows that some left-field thinking is going to be required in order to keep the business ticking over. But might she end up taking things too far as she tries to make a profit at the pub?
Emma is struggling to focus at work as her recent argument with Chris is weighing heavily on her mind. Susan, too, is feeling shockwaves as she frets that the Carter kids won’t ever be able to make amends.
And Robert and Lynda continue to grapple with their new reality as they’re forced to make a decision. Will they be able to recover what was lost in the fire, or has their relationship hit the rocks?

####################################################

I wonder who is supposed to be making amends, and for what? And why it seems to be being applied to both Susan's children? -- a thought strikes: I am not sure that word means what the synopsis writer thinks it means. You make amends for something by putting right a wrong you have done, or offering compensation to the wronged party, and I don't think that applies in this situation at all.

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/09/2020 22:04

Thanks Asking. I wonder what Susan has been told though, if she thinks someone (other than Alice) needs to make amends?

MikeUniformMike · 05/09/2020 17:34

Thanks @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/09/2020 18:12

One more thing:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 7th-10th September 2020
You could shoot a stag in the bar of The Bull these days. Business, having picked up after all that renaming nonsense, is back down in the doldrums, so Jolene comes up with a brand-new wheeze to get the punters in. It may be a wheeze too far where Ambridge is concerned.
While Jolene schemes away, Susan and Tracy come up with their own cunning plan to solve a crime that’s been going on right under their noses.
Talking of crimes, the dodgy father-and-son team of Philip and Gavin find themselves in further trouble - but this time, it’s not of their own making.
Meanwhile, Robert and Lynda, victims of Gavin’s criminal carelessness, struggle to recover all that was taken from them in the fire.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/09/2020 08:21

Thanks, Asking! On the other thread I've just speculated that Blake or one of his fellow slaves is the mystery shoplifter. Can't see any clear support for that theory here, but no clear contradictions either. Hmm.

OP posts:
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 09/09/2020 16:32

I am unsure how they'd get to Ambridge; I don't think they'd be given the use of a vehicle, they don't live there, and they are working twenty miles away at the moment according to Gavin. Also, wouldn't Susan have noticed A Stranger when she was illegally going through the CCTV footage?

ppeatfruit · 10/09/2020 14:25

Hello everyone ! it seems like TA is BACK !!!!! I was in tears after Lynda and Robert's reconciliation ( beautifully handled by the actors etc....) . Good, it's sounding much more like it's old self!!!!

Oh and thank you all esp. Questions for being there to listen to my delight at getting TA back!

I hope naughty Brad might be instrumental in shopping PhilGav.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 11/09/2020 17:23

Goodness, Friday already. How did that happen? I haven't got all the spoilers for next week, but these bits I have:

BBC One-liners
14 Sep Susan makes a discovery and Emma’s on the warpath.
15 Sep Gavin is forced to decide and Chris is in a panic.
16 Sep Chris wants answers and Emma’s furious.
17 Sep Alice has a secret and Fallon makes amends.

Sorry it's so sparse.

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 12/09/2020 06:48

Thanks Asking, it's good to see the size of the cast gradually increasing.

ppeatfruit · 12/09/2020 14:29

Yes thanks Asking. I wonder if I've missed hearing Ruth on the monos? Because I was thinking that she hasn't actually been heard for a long time.

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 12/09/2020 15:23

Forgot to say welcome back, ppeat!

I Do Not Think We Have Heard From Ruth. (So I'm wondering why I've spent so much time complaining about TA recently ...)

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/09/2020 17:48

I can state that Ruth has not appeared in any of the cast lists since the repeat-programmes were on.

ppeatfruit · 12/09/2020 17:53

Thanks very much for the welcome Persephone Grin

.Well let's face it before they had at least 2 on TA monos. they just that, moanos. !

IMO the recent 3 hander row with Chris. Al and Emm was the beginning of an improvement and it does seem to be getting back to it's old self gradually.

MikeUniformMike · 13/09/2020 16:15

Maybe F. Finch had to shield.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/09/2020 16:41

Thanks, Asking! Surely even if FF had had to shield, she could have recorded a monologue over the internet like everyone else? I'll admit, though, that I'm glad she didn't, as Ruth is far from my favourite character and I haven't missed her at all. David's monologue at the start of the thing was dire, and as I said at the time I put that down to the fact that David is not a reflective person so it wasn't plausible to hear him talking to himself like that.

We've not heard from Shula either, which is particularly odd given that we have heard from Brian and their actors are married to each other.

I hope none of the actors have been ill.

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 14/09/2020 09:08

Shula has been mentioned by Susan (now being a little overused with her sister) IMO.

So probably the actor needed a break took the time off before lockdown, or maybe even through it, to go off line in her 2nd home in the Hebrides, or somewhere , to look after her mum or someone, without the old man!

Like Ruth! Never fear Ruth and Shula fans they'll be back!!!!!

ednclouda · 15/09/2020 19:27

there is gonna be huge fallout when Emmur listens to drunken Alice raving on the phone omg

Pobblebonk · 16/09/2020 22:31

More one-liners:

16 Sep Chris wants answers and Emma’s furious.
17 Sep Alice has a secret and Fallon makes amends.
21 Sep Susan starts a rumour and Robert reluctantly concedes
22 Sep Lynda takes charge and Alice is confused
23 Sep Gavin’s in hot water and Lynda and Robert go head to head.
24 Sep Alice opens up and Gavin offers advice.
28 Sep Alice reaches out for support and Elizabeth finds herself having to say no.
29 Sep Philip finds himself in hot water and Lilian makes amends.
30 Sep Lynda has a shocking suggestion and Lilian inadvertently makes things worse
1 Oct Fallon has a dilemma on her hands and Jazzer attempts to turn a situation to his advantage

Still no sign of Friday or Sunday broadcasts, then.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/09/2020 07:58

Thanks, @Pobblebonk. That's a lot of hot water for the Moss Men.

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 17/09/2020 09:23

Yes thanks Pobble.

MikeUniformMike · 17/09/2020 19:58

Thanks @Pobblebonk.

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 18/09/2020 05:05

Thanks Pobblebonk!

I see the BBC has undertaken another cull of possible teaser phrases. Hmm They'll be down to three soon:

"Wants answers".

"In hot water".

"Makes amends".
