A Small Town Murder (R4) - is it just me?

I love crime dramas and I love Meera Syal as an actress, but I just can't get on with A Small Town Murder- due to the writing, not the acting. Her character is so unconvincingly saintly and smug, and the plot is essentially the same every series. .

I haven't switched it off, but am not really listening to it. Never really liked it for the reasons you give.

I listened to most of it, Meera Syal gives it a class it really doesn't deserve. i got drawn in by the DV storyline and thought it was being reasonably well done but the ending was so false it ruined it all. No idea why they keep dragging it back, perhaps this was the last one as she's retired?

The latest one was very ropey. Too many story lines shoehorned in for no reason. I loved the first couple but they have got progressively worse.
