Radio using no data

I'm away on holiday next week in Devon and I can't seem to find an app for radio that uses no data. Anyone know if there is one please.

I'm not sure that I understand the question but can't you just use an old-fashioned, steam-driven radio for your radio requirements. Is it signal that is the problem?

AntSte · 21/07/2019 22:01

Using a radio without data is only possible if the mobile has an FM receiver in it. If you have an iPhone I don't think there would be one.
If it's not too late maybe get your hands on a little portable radio?
Hope you have fun!

What you need is called a radio

WiFi?

Not sure if I'm understanding this correctly but if you have Wi-fi then say BBC Sounds app or listen live via any of the radio stations websites. You would need a Wi-fi or Bluetooth enabled speaker.

Listen through phone on WiFi Dogsmother

I know what you're talking about OP!
My old Nokia used to pick up radio regardless of Wi-Fi or data.
Nowadays all the smartphones demand that you download an app and stream it live.

And it cuts out in areas of low signal.

I resisted swopping to an iPhone for years because they don’t have the ability to receive FM radio, and Sony Ericsson does / did. I think you may need to go retro and buy a radio, if you can’t do it via wifi.

Maybe just dig out an old phone with an FM radio.

Even if it's not connected to a mobile network, the radio bit will still work!

a radio. Ha ha! I still use a little single battery Sony. It is the best.

@WaitingForAGovernment , my iPhone 5 gets Classic FM.
