Well hasn’t it been a fun few years! Thank you all for supporting the threads and sharing in love and critique of The Archers.

£8 gets me about a mile (albeit with a few traffic lights/junctions) on fairly empty roads. £12.50 seems cheap!

I am surprised Rex isn't advertising to do airport collections/drop offs (far more lucrative, I imagine).

grumiosmum · 14/03/2019 18:03

The 8-mile, 20-minute cab journey to my local rural train station is always at least £20.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 14/03/2019 18:28

Well, it looks as if the Bull can delay their Brexit party ...

OMGoodness! Just found out that Natasha is played by the wonderful Mali Harries - I thought she had a great voice, I like her even more nowSmile
Kate is a PITA but I find her very enjoyable as a character.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 14/03/2019 19:15

Ginormous BOOP. In all different sizes!

Brew Cake

(Though I hate the Americanised dialect.)

WhenIsTheEasyBit · 14/03/2019 19:19

What a lovely end to an episode. Can't say I'm always an Emmur fan, but would give her a hug now if I could.

RadioCarter · 14/03/2019 19:28

Well done, CIA, for noticing Mia and sending in Emma but she wrong-footed us with the Rob-gossip!

Motoko · 14/03/2019 19:43

That was a lovely scene with Mia and Emma. Had a tear in my eye listening to that.

But Susan. Oh boy! CIA indeed. You could hear the glee in her voice, when she said surely Natasha knew about Rob and Helen.

I noticed Hannah's barb at Natasha, asking if marrying Tom was worth it. Also, how many cans had she and Jazza (?) got through? It sounded like there'd been a party, with the amount Natasha was clearing up.

And finally Will, giving them notice. I hope he does it properly, and doesn't just rely on Hannah letting the others know. I could imagine her not telling them until the last minute, although that would be tricky with Johnny and Bert needing to be told too.

I wonder where they will all live? Sounds like there's going to be a lot of homeless people in Ambridge soon.

CaptainMyCaptain · 14/03/2019 19:48

I loved the Emma and Mia bit, well done Susan for noticing.

jennystagine · 14/03/2019 20:13

How lovely of Emma, made me tearful too.
Well done SWStar

DavidDavidDavid · 14/03/2019 20:16

So, now we just need Lee to pop in and see Susan...

thislido · 14/03/2019 20:27

Or for Natasha to bump into Lee as she explores the village.

Another BOOP for the Mia thing, Emma did a great job and I loved how she said for Mia not to worry about Susan, “she helped me with mine” Made me cry too.

Did you mean the “ace”, George? I found it a bit jarring too but maybe Emma is more down with the kids than us!

GeorgeTheBleeder · 14/03/2019 20:32

No, I meant the "getting our period". It's just ... not even close to being English. (Don't think I noticed "ace"! Which is probably older than I am so unobjectionable.)

thislido · 14/03/2019 20:42

She said “being a girl is ace”. Funnily enough I didn’t notice the “when you’ve got your period”/ “when we get our period” - I think we used to say that!

grumiosmum · 14/03/2019 20:42

Scriptwriters were clever getting Susan to break the news re Helen to Natasha, when we were all expecting her to spill the beans to Lee. Will be interesting to see how that goes now ...

thislido · 14/03/2019 20:44

We had change counting two episodes in a row as well!

Dumdedumdedum · 14/03/2019 21:12

BOOP to Radio Carter and Emmur. Really very well done, the whole thing, from Susan spotting it to Emma following up on it rapidly.

GabrielleNelson · 14/03/2019 21:19

Female. Can't remember who it is but Keri Davies reported the name on Twitter earlier in the week.

Yes, BOOPs all round. Does anyone else remember that when Susan was in prison Emma was found shoplifting because she was too embarrassed to tell anybody she needed STs? I think Betty was in charge back in those days. She soon sorted it out. Nice bit of continuity there, assuming it was meant.

birdsdestiny · 14/03/2019 21:26

I really like Emma. Always have. She has her faults but she is a good person.

Dumdedumdedum · 14/03/2019 21:26

Naylah Ahmed. I don't recognize her name, but will look out for her again!
MsNelson - that's interesting about Emma shoplifting and Betty sorting it out, I don't remember hearing it myself, but great piece of continuity if it was meant!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 14/03/2019 21:27

Yes, lots of BOOPing tonight. Although my dh asked if it was some kind of public service broadcast 🙄

I wonder if Natasha will be narked that Tom didn’t tell her about Helen’s history or whether she really will see it as “part and parcel of a whirlwind romance”, or however RC described it.

GabrielleNelson · 14/03/2019 21:29

Naylah Ahmed.

GabrielleNelson · 14/03/2019 21:30

Cross post! I knew I should have refreshed.

NorthernLurker · 14/03/2019 22:00

Loved Emma and Mia and the awkwardness and relief in Wills voice when he realised why she was there. Beautifully played.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 14/03/2019 22:06

Emma is becoming Will's proxy-wife ...
