Anyone else listening to this lovely comedy?

So very funny - and such a classy cast!

I'm listening. Alison steadman is superb!

I absolutely freakin LOVE this.

Not an Alison Steadman fan but she's great in this....however no one holds a candle to Miriam Margolyes who is fabulous (as always).

Brilliant writing from Sue Limb.

Glad it's not just me then!

Venus had a line in Friday's episode:

"Just popped up to Paris for a spot of last-minute shopping before the war."

Made me actually laugh out loud!

Don’t mention the gooseberry fool ! This series makes me laugh out loud a lot. All of the ‘sir’ ‘madam’ nonsense is delicious . . .

TheEfficientBaxter · 21/11/2018 08:41

Bleak Expectations is a cracking comedy too. It's on 4Xtra sometimes.

Really well done Dickensian spoofery! And such a clever name - a proper IWITOF.

I love Gloomsbury. Love, love, love it.

And God knows I don’t say that about many R4 ‘comedies’ Hmm

TheEfficientBaxter · 25/11/2018 13:26

Not IWITOF!

I meant IWITOT!

It’s hilarious. I have visited monks house and Charleston house in the last 18 months so that makes the listening even more delicious. Can’t wait for the next instalment.

Just discovered Life in London (4Xtra Fridays)

If you enjoy Gloomsbury, you will like this, I think!

I'll give it a go!

Sue Limb (creator and writer of Gloomsbury - and lots of other good stuff) is being showcased tomorrow (Saturday) on 4Extra.

Three whole hours Grin! 9am until midday, and again in the evening 7pm until 10pm.

Well worth a listen, I would say.
