This makes me very sad. Getting ready and then driving to work won’t be the same

I'm torn. He's so arrogant and self obsessed. But he does wake me up in the mornings as he's very happy and bubbly. Wish Steve Wright would go.

Hope Sara Cox takes over. They need a new permanent traffic reporter too. Not sure why it keeps changing.

Might be tolerable now - I can't stand his show (DH has it on in the car and I just turn it off straight away I get in with him).

I know he annoys a lot of people but he’s lively enough to wake me up and I’ll miss him - hope Sarah Cox fills the role I utterly love listening to her!

I like the upbeat energy.
He is a self confessed twat often though.
Recent highlights include loving a paul mccartney album, although he hasnt heard it yet
And suggesting we must all go and see the springsteen thing that is sold out, only on broadway that he had flown there specially to see.

He also talks about cars too much

I don’t mind him but I dislike the way he fawns over certain guests (I was cringing when he had bloody Gaby Roslin, his mate, on and was telling the audience to contact the BBC to demand that she be given her own show).

The show is always better when Sara Cox covers it, and I hope she gets the job too.

I hear North Norfolk Digital are recruiting...

Good news. His show is tired and he's difficult to listen to. Hopefully someone with some charm and humour will take his place.

Did he say why he was leaving?

I could tolerate Sara Cox, although her accent would irritate me on more than my usual 20 minute drive to work. I hope Jo bloody Whiley doesn't get it, but I wouldn't be surprised, because the drivetime show has been totally ruined by her and that would be one way for the Beeb to be seen to be more equal and give Simon Mayo his show back. (Is he allowed to talk at all anymore? Because I rarely hear him - its all her!)

And yes, Steve Wright is highly irritating. Mind you, it usually seems to be Craig Charles who stands in for him, and he gives me utterly irrational murderous rage whenever he opens his mouth.

I think he's been given another opportunity somewhere, he talked about moving on to a new chapter...

I'm still getting over Christian O'Connell leaving the absolute radio breakfast show in all honesty. I've tried the new presenter, I've tried radio x and R2 but still can't find a decent breakfast show these days.

I will definitely be sad. HE has been great, sometimes too cheery, but I like cheeriness in the morning on my radio

I didn’t used to like his general personality but his drive time show style exactly fits my delightful slog around the one way system - I shall miss it. I can see why it gets wearing to do, though.

Please don’t make it the awful Sarah Cox, though - when she has substituted, I have had to wander up and down the airwaves in search of something less annoying

The faux cheeriness is so irritating. Good riddance I say. My preference would be rylan who underneath the silly Essex boy act is a very funny man.
