As Frilly stress Lizzy out, did the SWs forget her heart defect? Will there be long term llama drama karma in The Archers?

BOOP to the Lily actress. I loved that wee note of uncertainty as she described how she would be earning all the money to pay for Randy Russ to concentrate on his art. She knows it's going to end badly. She just can't quite admit that she's made a mistake. Lily doesn't make mistakes of course. That's her role in the family so admitting when she's wrong is a huge deal. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out. I will be very annoyed if it all happens off stage and we don't get it first hand.

You might want to remember that's how Kirsty and Roy discovered the Hone Farm.contamination.

EBearhug · 16/09/2018 02:14

For Hone read Home.

buckingfrolics only in January it seems!

I was only half listening to Friday night’s episode, but I thought the scene between Lizzie and Lily was brilliantly written and acted. Though I groaned when the big fat kettle got saved from being returned.

I write this as I eat my Yeo Valley keffir yogurt (with added granola, I’m not that brave). If nothing else, the Archers must have done wonders for keffir sales IRL (though I must admit to having been seduced by the fact that it was initially a Sainsburys online freebie)..

Gersemi · 16/09/2018 08:29

It was noticeable that Lily assumed that if the expensive kettle was returned she would get the money. If I were Lizzie I would tell her to dream on, she could have a bog standard kettle as a replacement and that would be her lot.

Fink · 16/09/2018 09:03

Yes, I thought that was weird, Gersemi. If my parents had bought me £££ of stuff in preparation to go to uni and an item of it was then returned, there's no way I would have thought I had any claim on that money, how bizarre!

I tried kefir once, when it was going free at the homeless shelter I volunteer in. None of the homeless people would take it. I quickly understood why after I tasted it. As I struggled to finish the pot I thought to myself 'bloody hell, Tom Archer, you want to get back to your pigs. No one's going to buy this twice.'

ppeatfruit · 16/09/2018 09:17

TeenTimes I've seen that lazy weeder contraption on Countryfile (or some such programme) where they hand pick the crop in the same way! I wouldn't mind working on one of those!

Kefir is a bit like sour cream\ or runny yoghurt best with demerara sugar or maple syrup! (that's why Susan's fruit ones were more popular I suppose) I'm not sure if that defeats it's healthy image though!

QuaterMiss · 16/09/2018 10:10

Lovely mention of Hayley and Abby - last Sunday I assume.

EBearhug · 16/09/2018 10:28

I wouldn't mind working on one of those!

One of the farms round by us had one (probably still does.) Quite a few of my fellow sixth formers got summer jobs on it. They often did end up minding working on it after hours of it. (Never experienced it myself - lifeguard in paid much better.)

ppeatfruit · 16/09/2018 12:21

Any repetitive work, or even exercises, leave one feeling sore and achy until getting used to them!

Redcliff · 16/09/2018 17:24

I think I have heard Lilly wavering a few times and I hope it all falls apart (loved DDD script and the idea from others that wife might be up-duffed . I hooe long term Freddy and Lilly run things together- he would have great ideas and she could make them happen

MrsArthurShappey · 16/09/2018 17:30

I’m wondering why they’re doing this storyline so soon after Helen and Rob. Do you think they want to end it in a more satisfactory way, ie without bloodshed?

QuaterMiss · 16/09/2018 17:42

Definite BOOP for Friday. Beautifully done. Lily, declaring herself a “grown woman”, sounded like an angry eleven year old. Poor thing.

After all this shopping and general upset I’m wondering if Northumberland may come to pass with Russ - as a result of the various conversations he’s had this week - simply not arriving in Manchester. Leaving Lily in sole possession of the pointless flat. (It’ll be so disappointing if the inevitable smash eventually occurs off-screen ...)

Butteredparsn1ps · 16/09/2018 18:10

BOOP for Jim too for nearly hugging Alistair.

grumiosmum · 16/09/2018 18:37

I like kefir.

C8H10N4O2 · 16/09/2018 18:46

I like kefir.

My name is C8 and I like kefir and saurkraut (not together)

Gersemi · 16/09/2018 19:34

WTF was Shula muttering "Alastair!" for in an exasperated tone after meeting him on his run? Does it somehow offend her that he's getting his life together and had a good birthday?

MrsGrindah · 16/09/2018 19:39

The plot descriptions are getting increasingly overly dramatic... tonight was “Elizabeth breaks down and an old enemy causes trouble for Harrison”...yet it was another boring episode about rivalry with Darrington and Elizabeth having a bit of a moan. Another nothing happened episode

QuaterMiss · 16/09/2018 19:40

Yes!

Grin
QuaterMiss · 16/09/2018 19:41

(Sorry, that was responding to Gersemi.)

Minimammoth · 16/09/2018 20:30

Perhaps Shula and Alastair will re convene?

QuaterMiss · 16/09/2018 20:38

I had that thought today.

Because really, there’s no point in Alistair’s remaining in the village otherwise.

R4 · 16/09/2018 20:46

Perhaps Shula and Alastair will re convene?

Wot? Another reverse ferret? (love that expression)
