So I love Griefcast and Terrible, thanks for asking which both feature people telling their sad/ traumatic/ inspirational /heartbreaking stories.

Any other podcasts along this theme that anyone can recommend?

I have recently come across The Backstory thebackstorypodcast.co.uk which has someone telling the story of an event or background that has impacted them. I think it was nominated for an award this year. They have a follow-up episode each week discussing the previous story, a bit like they did with Serial. Grace Dent presents The Untold on the BBC www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06wkdzd/episodes/downloads which has had some very touching stories - for example one Irish woman telling the story of her termination to coincide with the referendum a while ago. Anna Sale does Death, Sex and Money www.wnycstudios.org/shows/deathsexmoney which is a mix of personal stories on the death/sex/money themes and also pretty revealing interviews with well-known people - I really enjoyed the one with Alec Baldwin. Maybe one of these might be up your street. I like these type of podcasts too.

I'd recommend Battle Scars, Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People, Eye of the Storm, Love Stories with Dolly Atherton, Maeve in America, Rough Translation, Susan Calman's Mrs Brightside, The Moth, The Story Colllider and This is Love.

I've just downloaded the first half a dozen episodes of The Untold. I think this is just what I've been looking for.

No probs Rattymare! I really like it too. Some episodes are very touching. I enjoyed The Adoption podcast story from The BBC too www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05k3wsq/episodes/downloads it's more like a mini series, again a personal story of the adoption process.

Happy Face is a new one I've just stumbled upon. Only two episodes out at the moment, but it's very interesting. It's basically the story of the daughter of the "happy face killer" (I did a refresher and listened to some true crime podcast episode on him before I started this one, but I don't think that was at all necessary.) Definitely her personal story, and her coming to terms with it all, as well as talking about her father's crimes.
