Thanks to all for the dog ideas, and special mention to Ppeatfruit.

I've just listened again online is there going to be a thing with pip and Rex and creating a horrible Rex/Toby Anisha pip triangle square

Peartree17 · 24/05/2018 19:13

I thought that too Gnu. But then I suppose the Lower Loxley home was also a clue, and that must be widely known at the college. Maybe the painting made the family wealth more concrete and glamorous.

The French president, Macron, is married to his former teacher. One of her kids was his classmate.

cheminotte · 24/05/2018 21:38

BOOP for Lily explaining how she was always the strong one last night.

I also wondered about a possible romance between Tom and Hannah?

CeciledeVolanges · 24/05/2018 21:42

Annette. Greg's daughter, I think? She slept with Leon.

AlecOrAlonzo · 24/05/2018 23:22

I actually eye rolled at the end tonight. I don't for one second believe Brian fully realises what a dickhead he's been. I think he's got away with it all over again.

I wonder how many fruit lickers get a top notch chef doing a welcome barbecue for them. Lucky sods. We had risotto for tea. I just wanted fried onions on a cheese burger listening to all that tonight.

AlecOrAlonzo · 24/05/2018 23:22

Screw you autocucmber!

Gruach · 24/05/2018 23:44

fruit lickers Grin

Some new fetish?

Halsall · 25/05/2018 08:04

Fruit lickers 🍎🍇🍐🍓👅👅 LOL

Re Lily and Slimy Russ - not very believable. For all her smug and patronising nature, she does usually seem to have a finely-tuned inbuilt bullshit-detector; how likely is it that the clearly preposterous Russ would stand a moment's chance?

C8H10N4O2 · 25/05/2018 09:00

The twins are getting away with their naughtiness at the moment.

How is Lily "naughty"? At a vulnerable point she confided in a senior member of staff at her college who has taken advantage of that power relationship.

CeciledeVolanges · 25/05/2018 09:11

Lily isn't "naughty" in this sense, but think about how she acted with Pip ("everyone always confides in me, go on, tell me") and Phoebe when she got with Constantin. That's not someone reluctantly taking on the burden of responsibility, she seemed to relish it. Also she manipulated Freddy very successfully ("If you really want to ruin all my happiness, go ahead, tell someone").

On the other hand, I feel really sorry for her being in a relationship with someone - that "I'm only interested because you're crying, let me take care of you" proclivity is one I'm very familiar with and it ends in tears even when there isn't a massive power imbalance in the relationship, which there is, and Russ should be a) ashamed of himself and b) sacked.

She is a young woman who has always felt she had to be the "grown up"before she is really ready for it.

"You are so grown up" is considered a compliment to most teens but if its the result of them feeling a need to take an adult family role before they are ready its not a good thing.

C8H10N4O2 · 25/05/2018 10:31

Russ should be a) ashamed of himself and b) sacked.

Posted to soon - totally agree with this.

ppeatfruit · 25/05/2018 13:09

C8H Yes Lily seems to want the responsibility, but she 's still young.

I reckon that lust has taken over her 'common sense' Halsall It happens a lot. The human race would probably die out if we all thought about our actions before sex!.

CeciledeVolanges · 25/05/2018 16:58

I know it isn't a good thing.

Abra1de · 25/05/2018 17:06

I don’t think Lizzie is unapproachable. Pip confided in her about the pregnancy.

Buckingfrolicks · 25/05/2018 18:32

My twins are all too similar to Freddie and Lily. Except DS doesn't sell drugs and DD doesn't shag her tutor, afaik

But the dynamic between them?! Yes sir. To the point where it took F and L lying to their mum to make me realise with a shock, that my DCs must have lied, collectively, to me. OMG.

I live F and L like they were mine own.

Buckingfrolicks · 25/05/2018 18:32

Love. Love F and L.

Fink · 25/05/2018 18:46

Haha, @Buckingfrolicks, I read your 'My twins are all too similar' to F & L to mean all your twins are too similar to F & L. I was imagining you parenting several dozen sets of twins! Grin

Then I re-read it.

TigerTeatimes · 25/05/2018 23:27

I feel like the child of divorce here. Every reticent quaver in Shula's voice makes me hope in vain she's finally seen sense. Although I'm sure Alistair could do better.

Lily seems to want the responsibility, but she's still young. Exactly Ppeat - just because she wants to handle things and feels she can, doesn't mean she should by a long way. Teens are notorious for feeling much more adult and capable than they really are. I think, actually, that that aspect of her personality is entirely congruent with the Russ storyline.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 25/05/2018 23:54

Poor Shula. I bet she thought she'd be the one having a happening.

What can she do to tempt him back?

(My bet is that they'll re-bond over a vet emergency, probably one of Shula's horses)

echt · 25/05/2018 23:58

A couple of eps back Brine was mentioning paying for Kate to go on some Goatfest in the USA. Obviously she's as annoying as an annoying thing, but I thought they were strapped for cash?

TA characters swan off abroad conveniently constantly. Hmm

EBearhug · 26/05/2018 01:55

it took F and L lying to their mum to make me realise with a shock, that my DCs must have lied, collectively, to me.

"Now, darlings, I've been listening to the Archers, and I want you to be totally honest with me, about the lying. Then we need say no more about it. Otherwise, I shall be paying attention to particular characters for parenting hints, and I think we can all agree, that is nobody's preferred option..."

TigerTeatimes · 26/05/2018 04:15

Haha exactly Knight Shula is gagging for a happening Grin

At least by telling everyone it was a mutual break up means she can thoroughly enjoy (not enjoying) playing the wronged party, Wink

Shula Leaves Alistair for bring boring. Turns out perhaps she's the boring one after all!

Eastpoint · 26/05/2018 08:11

Echt. The business is hundreds of thousands short, subbing Kate £3K is a drop in the ocean.
