Brian is over a barrel, Alice has drained the barrel and Shula has given it to Alistair with both barrels - The Archers is not exactly a barrel of laughs at the moment.

Thanks to @LillianGish for the thread title.

To be fair to Jazzer I'm pretty sure I first learnt of Vercingetorix through reading Asterix.

DadDadDad · 09/05/2018 19:49

I had no idea about Vercingetorix (thanks autocomplete), but I just asked my Latin-loving GCSE-revising son and he rattled off the answer. 😎

Did anyone catch CA at 7:15 pointing out that soon-to-be Sergeant Burns never found the bunting?

I'm no detective so I wish the SW had given us some clues as to who smashed the window. Who could it have been?Hmm

BikingBeatrix · 09/05/2018 20:23

Well, l assumed it was Ellis the dealer. But it could have been Alistair or Willyum or any other disturbed resident. Lynda cos her book got damaged, Robert for the same reason. The dog?

BikingBeatrix · 09/05/2018 20:26

Jim cos he’s never going to play in Wigmore hall? Olwen, cos she hates Ambridgers? Jill cos her elder daughter won’t obey her mother?I still think it was Ellis.

ppeatfruit · 09/05/2018 20:56

Aah it wasn't in the same sentence birds I was referring to Eddie' s character which you had been demeaning.!

Yes the incontinent Bichon Freze threw the 2 books she had chewed through the window of a house on the Green! They had endowed her with super canine powers!

ppeatfruit · 09/05/2018 20:58

Because she couldn't decide whether she preferred Canterbury Tails! or some random Hobbit book.

DadDadDad · 09/05/2018 21:24

So, panel, I'd like you to name some books that would be popular at the dog-owners club...

Fink · 09/05/2018 21:25

I agree EBearhug, the only way I knew it was Vercingetorix was because of Asterix. This is still true today even though I have a history degree (not my period). And well done Harrison because I never had any idea how to pronounce it. Public service broadcasting at its finest!

Fink · 09/05/2018 21:26

Yeah, it must have been Ellis or one of the other people Freddie's got involved with. Why else would there be all those references to him checking his phone all night?

DadDadDad · 09/05/2018 21:27

Harry Setter and the Half-Blood Prince Charles Spaniel. Confused

EBearhug · 09/05/2018 22:54

I reckon it was Ellis, too.
