Brian is over a barrel, Alice has drained the barrel and Shula has given it to Alistair with both barrels - The Archers is not exactly a barrel of laughs at the moment.

Mrs Arthur Grin Great minds and all that Grin Although pleasingly it's been 17 years since I had to think about my menstrual cycle!

I LIKE my cream cardigan, it must be an age thing !

Puremince · 01/05/2018 12:55

How could Adam have been so indifferent towards Lexi? Lexi should back out now, if Adam is too busy to think about the transfer, he is too busy to have an actual baby in his life.

TigerTeatimes · 01/05/2018 13:18

I think Adam's attitude is pure defence mechanism, but if I were Lexi I'd have alarms bells ringing.

Still so cross that Shula wanted an ill considered gap year with Alistair and then when didn't get her own way ended her marriage.

ppeatfruit · 01/05/2018 13:20

Yes but Ian is obsessed about the baby not Adam. He can't really get excited about much can he? Though he was trying his best with Brian. To no avail.

TigerTeatimes · 01/05/2018 13:37

I thought he had a massive pro baby change of heart when they were looking into adoption.

Also he had a conversation with Jenny about not being able to cope with more disappointment or something like that. His mind was fully on Brian though, rather rude to Lexi given what she's prepared to do for them.

GnotherGnu · 01/05/2018 14:16

Mystic Gnu predicts: Lexi will end up having twins.

ppeatfruit · 01/05/2018 14:41

I said that Shula's sigh was after Al turned his nose up at her casserole, sorry Grin It was at his microwave porridge in the surgery kitchen! Where's Anisha when he needs her Grin? That was a dig at all you feminists! I couldn't resist Grin

It sounded like GG's supper was an improvement on his ex's cooking though!

I just LA.

campion · 01/05/2018 15:02

Adam is incapable of showing excitement. Or a sense of humour,or empathy. He does moaning quite well and seems to have a permanent chip on his shoulder about something or nothing.

No one seems to have noticed that he isn't actually interested in fatherhood, despite mouthing the words.
And I wish they'd all stop talking about 'the baby'. There is no baby!!

ADarkandStormyKnight · 01/05/2018 18:26

I've just realised that Shula's 'divorce' is basically Brexit.

Hillfarmer · 01/05/2018 19:13

Please can someone shoot William Grundy. I have so had enough.

‘ F-a-a-aamished’ Who the fuck even says that?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 01/05/2018 19:23

It sounds like treats and meals out have been very thin on the ground until now. And why aren't George and Poppy getting the same attention?

LassWiADelicateAir · 01/05/2018 19:39

I really hope Lexi changes her mind. But oh the whining from Ian if she does.

cheminotte · 01/05/2018 21:49

Please explain DarkandStormy ?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 01/05/2018 21:51

Wanting to Leave but still wanting all the benefits of the Union.

cheminotte · 01/05/2018 22:15

Yes that makes sense, I was trying to think of a Dan equivalent in the Brexit situation.

C8H10N4O2 · 01/05/2018 23:08

It sounds like treats and meals out have been very thin on the ground until now. And why aren't George and Poppy getting the same attention?

Well George has EdnEmmur and Poppy has been give quite a bit of general family attention.

But I keep wondering about Mia. She seems non existent in everyone's concerns considering she has also lost her mother.

Re Shula - me 3. I'd have wanted to throw the casserole at her although GG was a better alternative :)

BikingBeatrix · 02/05/2018 01:20

My student son has been having his Finals-season sleep disturbed by a flat mate having loud sex through a very thin wall. We really need Alistair to be having very loud sex in the spare room. Shula won’t even be able to moan to anyone much.

It’s an absolutely awful stage for Mia to lose her mother. Not that any stage of childhood is better but she’s old enough to almost cope so might well leave people thinking she is okay; Poppy is young enough to need support in lots of activities so people will step in anyway, like Clarrie and Beverley. Mia will have to enter puberty and all that that entails without her mum. Well, so will Poppy l know, but she’ll have had some years before that happens. I know what l mean. Sorry, past bedtime. Zzzzzzzzz

extinctspecies · 02/05/2018 07:35

Where is Anisha?

Her business partner is going through a marital separation and she's got nothing to say about it? Really?

Ceinwen2 · 02/05/2018 08:41

Possible disintegration for Will, perhaps? Throwing himself into being a sole parent/ family man will not work if two thirds of the family have left. As they would, in this case. It is amazing that the image people still have of the Archers is that it is a cuddly fantasy land. If it ever was it isn't now.I think it is great. Real -life issues, pretty much dealt with in realistic terms.

ppeatfruit · 02/05/2018 08:51

Ceinwen Will would have George part time and Poppy full time, I would hope he could hold himself together for them.

Andrew should have talked to Will about it all before thinking of going to a solicitor and court. It wouldn't be cheap that's for sure.

ppeatfruit · 02/05/2018 08:54

Cuddly fantasy land It's never been that as far as I can remember just more like real life less gratuitously miserable and violent than the TV soaps Grin

GnotherGnu · 02/05/2018 12:04

Will's going to get into financial difficulties if he keeps trying to bribe Jake at his current level, isn't he? It seems unlikely that he's being paid full time rates for part time work.

ppeatfruit · 02/05/2018 12:34

extinct We have heard Rex talking (more than once) about the Alais\Shul situation ,via Anisha,. I'm assuming that either the actress is ill or has a lot of work away from TA.

extinctspecies · 02/05/2018 13:19

I'd missed that peat. Thanks for the update.

Puremince · 02/05/2018 13:42

If Jake is 14/15, then a court would take his opinion into account re whether he stays with his father or step father. The idea that there might be a battle in court over him is ludicrous. If Mia is 12/13 then her opinion would be taken into account too.

I think Andrew was quite sensible checking out the legal situation. Residence is not the only thing which might be affected by Nic's death. I hope Beverley was exaggerating that he saw a solicitor because he was contemplating going to court.
