We never thought we’d feel sorry for Will. Although of course it should have been Pip! Discuss The Archers here (Titled edited by MNHQ)

Welcome all! I was really touched by the potential for Ed and Will to reconcile. But wonder if Will can accept Ed’s support.

As ever, no spoilers here (there’s a thread for that) - discussion permitted as soon as the pm episode is broadcast.

Yes, horrific to listen to.

BertrandRussell · 20/03/2018 19:17

Blimey.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/03/2018 19:17

Well, that was grim. Alice's behaviour was unforgivable.

NorthernLurker · 20/03/2018 19:26

How did she get that drunk and still be served? Had she been drinking beforehand? Awful moment when she was abusive to nic's poor mum.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 20/03/2018 19:29

Gruesome. I bet Alice had one or two on her way to the funeral (I can imagine her with a quarter bottle of 'handbag wine'). And I bet she has a lot more tonight.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/03/2018 19:31

Can't see even Jennifer excusing this.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 20/03/2018 19:47

Where were Brian and Jennifer?

BikingBeatrix · 20/03/2018 19:50

Just when the Aldridge think it can’t get worse (tho we all know it can) .... l wonder how Chris will handle it. Does Brine have enough dosh left to send Alice to the Priory? Will she meet Ant Mc Partland there? I just hope they/team can do a decent alcoholic s/line so she isn’t sorted immediately. I need to listen again as didn’t catch every word.

BikingBeatrix · 20/03/2018 19:51

I agree, was just saying to DH Alice’s parents must have been there.

RubyLennoxExists · 20/03/2018 19:54

I hope this is all building up to Alice admitting to the hit and run. When she was going on about how supportive Nic had been I thought she was going to mention it then.

EsmesBees · 20/03/2018 20:40

I thought the dialogue was quite clumsy. Alice was almost a caricature of a drunk at a funeral.

Stickerrocks · 20/03/2018 21:10

Listening on iPlayer. This is awful. The whole episode is so wrong.

CopASquat · 20/03/2018 21:26

Wow I now dislike Alice more than Pip who knew.

BertrandRussell · 20/03/2018 22:36

That was pretty unsubtle........

C8H10N4O2 · 20/03/2018 22:39

I hate the LSWs for turning Alice from a likeable, clever and hardworking young woman into a monstrosity. Because Om knows you can't be female, hardworking and successful in TA without being punished in some way

BitOutOfPractice · 20/03/2018 22:42

Do the whole inappropriate drinking thing with Alice has presumably been leading up to that.

No sign of Chris on air though. And of course in real life JD would have been in like a robber's dog on that scene

BitOutOfPractice · 20/03/2018 22:44

And am the only one who'd forgotten that Nick and Helen were ever close. I can't remember a single scene with them together in the last 5 years. Certainly no sign of it when Helen was in prison etc

LassWiADelicateAir · 20/03/2018 22:47

That was awful. And where were Chris, Susan, Neil and Jennifer?

LassWiADelicateAir · 20/03/2018 22:49

Or even Pip or Adam for that matter. Even Pip would have stepped into avoid that car crash.

Alleycat1 · 20/03/2018 23:14

C8H with you all the way. Bring back the real Alice!

BertrandRussell · 20/03/2018 23:20

TASWAMA

LassWiADelicateAir · 20/03/2018 23:49

Do you think they will drop the Matt story line or was the conversation with Joe and Ed supposed to emphasise it wasn't Nic?

JessieMcJessie · 21/03/2018 00:44

Agree with all those comments about the funeral episode. But I just listened to it back to back with the previous episode....what on Earth was the point of all that wittering on about vegetable stew? Was it supposed to be a peek into a little lighthearted moment between mother and daughter or something Fruit and orange peel? “Ooh hers actually was better, sorry Mum! “Ho ho what if one of your cheese students tells you to add more ingredients eh?”. Utterly utterly boring and pointless dialogue.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 21/03/2018 00:53

I thought Helen and Pat both came over as insufferable in that dialogue. And some not very well disguised tension about the viability of Helen's business venture.
