No remorse whatsoever.

His coldness is staggering. I have rarely felt such anger against a stranger.

(It's on BBC R4 right now.)

Oooh - the Husband. I only heard part of the Wife's POV last week and meant to listen to it all through.

Did anyone else wonder whether she was a Mumsnetter?

Wisterical · 30/12/2017 17:52

But she was fucking horrendous too. Absolutely deserve each other.

CrabappleBiscuit · 30/12/2017 17:55

I listened to her last week and felt sorry for him till I heard him this week. I think they really shouldn’t be in a relationship though, it’s sounds destructive, like she’s keeping him close to punish him and because she likes the lifestyle and he’s just awful.

My dh said they were as bad as each other which I didn’t agree with, he should never have done what he did...but I can’t help thinking she’d be better off without him.

Gruach · 30/12/2017 18:00

I cannot understand why no caring people in their lives have staged an intervention and separated them. Their shared life sounds like the definition of Hell.

It made me feel I'll, listening both weeks (and last year). He's getting off on the emotional volatility and I reckon that if she ever levels out emotionally he'll have another affair.

Wisterical · 30/12/2017 18:07

Ill not I'll

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/12/2017 18:08

Listened to them last year and this year.

They do indeed deserve each other.

BitOutOfPractice · 30/12/2017 19:51

Oh I meant to listen to this as I heard the tail end of the woman's interview and I thought she sounded very...I don't know how to describe it...bitter but at the same time like she was enjoying it.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 30/12/2017 21:03

She had the moral high ground and she made sure everyone knew it. I felt for their children. I agree with others that they should part.

BitOutOfPractice · 30/12/2017 21:10

Oh lord are there children? Why on earth are they dragging this all out in public again?

niceberg · 30/12/2017 21:32

Thought he was a remorseless git too. Nasty piece of work. I didn't hear her, except for the trailer. Should I listen on iPlayer or just pretend the whole thing didn't happen?!

Gruach · 30/12/2017 21:44

I found listening to her incredibly stressful last week - the strain in her voice was just ...

But today fury made my heart thump.

niceberg definitely listen on iPlayer! But listen to last years too, for context. It's more excruciating than the most excruciating Mike Leigh. I wish Eddie Mair had interviewed them both though.

cathyclown · 30/12/2017 21:50

whats the link here please?

Gruach · 30/12/2017 21:59

My link above is to this evening's iPM interview with the husband.

Thanks Gruach,

I have a feeling I have heard this before now on IPM or is this a different angle now?

Have IPM on podcast so will listen later. Thank you.

niceberg · 31/12/2017 19:23

I've just listened to the wife's update. I didn't have the negative reaction to her some other posters have, just found it deeply upsetting having already heard the husband's update. She's so badly hurt, and taking on the guilt for him straying, yet he doesn't really give a shit about what he put her through. I hope he doesn't betray her again but I'd not be giving him a second chance.
