The last segment today reduced me to tears. A refugee with two children aged 3 & 5 kept in touch with another refugee. They'd never met before but he asked her to phone him every 10 minutes from the boat she was on just in case there was a problem, and there was, and he saved her and her children's and hundreds of other lives by phoning the Turkish Lifeboat Service. From Sweden.
He then described his own journey from Turkey to Greece, which is the bit that got me.
