So who's going? Here's a repeat of mummytime's link.
Anybody got any thoughts/insights on hotels?

I decided in for a penny, in for a pound. I've signed up to the whole thing.Blush

I'm going to the dinner.

AuldHeathen · 14/02/2017 20:09

I've booked for the meal too. I decided if I'm traipsing all that way, what's another £30!

mummytime · 14/02/2017 20:34

I booked the meal, and am going by train. And planning to visit the castle on Sunday before coming home.
It's kind of my Christmas present from DH.

AuldHeathen · 14/02/2017 20:50

That's lovely, mummy time. I'm taking a few extra days next week . I'm planning to see the sights on Friday morning! I am off on the 11 something train on Sunday.

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 14/02/2017 22:03

The cathedral in Lincoln is stunning but presumably only open for services on the Sunday.

If you've not been to Lincoln before - Steep Hill isn't called Steep Hill for nothing!

allegretto · 14/02/2017 22:06

I would expect a cathedral to be open every day.

PresidentOliviaMumsnet · 14/02/2017 22:13

@SilenceOfThePrams

If you're making badges, I vote for a biscuit. Secret sign only for the initiated.

Our emoticon icons are tiny and reproduce REALLY badly - I really wanted Archers but have settled on the blue mumsnet M instead.
They may not get posted, as there may not be time (rest assured any address info is safe) so may leave them at the reception checkin instead.

Looking at the programme there's not much time for cathedral spotting
I'm going to the dinner too

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 15/02/2017 08:12

Allegretto I'm sure it is, what I meant was that on Sundays when the servuces are on you can't wander round, you can onky go in to attend a service, whereas Monday - Saturday you can pop in and explore.

AuldHeathen · 15/02/2017 16:57

Just checked the cathedral website. It is shut on Sat pm due to a function, presumably open on Friday. The only previous time we've been in Lincoln it was shut. I hope I can see inside this visit.

EBearhug · 15/02/2017 19:13

We're busy on Sat pm anyway. Grin

CeciledeVolanges · 16/02/2017 06:23

Am I too late to get a badge?

AuldHeathen · 16/02/2017 13:35

Ebear, I just thought somebody might be so keen to visit the cathedral they might be tempted to bunk off! I didn't order a badge either, Cecile, and wondered the same.

EBearhug · 16/02/2017 16:19

I have been to Lincoln as a child. I remember sunlight through stained glass making pretty colours on the floor, and the Lincoln Imp. That is my entire memory.

I didn't remember it being quite so far north. It wasn't in my mental geography...

I have spare badges, please PM your name to me and I will leave them in an envelope at reception/check in, or you can find me and I can give you one ;-)

CeciledeVolanges · 16/02/2017 21:36

Would you mind leaving one at the desk in the name Cecile? I use the app and I'm not sure how to PM on it or that I remember my password for the site! Thank you so much!

R4 · 16/02/2017 23:00

Which building is the Conference in? Where is registration?

OP posts:
CeciledeVolanges · 17/02/2017 00:30

I'm having a massive work crisis (I work at a law firm) do you think I can register late? Even if I'm presenting? I might email Julie Barclay if things are this bad tomorrow.

CeciledeVolanges · 17/02/2017 00:30

R4 it's the Stephen Langton building

R4 · 17/02/2017 07:46

Thanks Cecile. I'm sending cosmic good vibes in your direction in the hope that your crisis gets sorted.
A late registration must be OK - after all the first 'event' is only a buffet lunch.

R4 · 17/02/2017 07:59

Arrgh! The BBC have stopped their travel news webpage. Budget cuts.

OP posts:
AuldHeathen · 17/02/2017 08:14

Cecile, I am sure they'll be pleased to see you whenever you manage. People will arrive late for many reasons. R4 - did you get a recent email about venue, etc? Includes a little map. Also wifi access details.

EBearhug · 17/02/2017 08:20

Yes, I discovered that yesterday. It's annoying, even if there are other travel sites.

CeciledeVolanges · 17/02/2017 11:06

Thanks, all. It is really nice to have supportive messages, it is only a tiny thing for some people but it is huge for me! I don't want to bore a hundred Archers fans!

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 18/02/2017 00:31

Cecile did you manage to make it?
