Ho ho ho! Will this thread last until Christmas?

OP posts:
TheMortificadosDragon · 25/12/2016 23:34

After all the overexcitement of the last year, I was glad it was a normal xmas at BF (and pleased the SWs have at last remembered Kathy) ... brookfield meh, poor old Jill in self- inflicted isolation in the kitchen was a bit sad.

GypsyFl0ss · 26/12/2016 07:05

So 2017 predictions...

Pip pregnant by Toebee who runs a mile as soon as he hears the news. At the same time
Kirsty pregnant by Tom and they work it out , whether together as a couple or co-parenting.
I'm kinda hoping that if it is Pip n Tobes then she fucks off after him 'cos I don't think I could bare her badly acting being pregnant.

Thank goodness for a full
Xmas episode!

glowfrog · 26/12/2016 07:58

Argh! DULL. Bloody autocorrect. Blush

R4 · 26/12/2016 08:36

Yes, it was satisfyingly dull (but not so dull that I fell asleep. Looking at you, Dr Who).

Merry Christmas everyone.Xmas Grin

Gruach · 26/12/2016 10:36

Happy Boxing Day all!

Yup, I fell asleep during Dr Who. It was so dull I kind of sympathised with Steven Moffat - perhaps he felt it was hopeless while he was writing it.

Anyway, guess I have all day to catch up on TA ...

TheMortificadosDragon · 26/12/2016 13:39

Anyone hoping we get a glimpse tonight of the hell that must be Boxing Day with Bruce and Ursula? Maybe Rob can attend a Hampshire hunt or shoot though.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 26/12/2016 13:48

When is Mother Goose being performed?

Much as I would like Tube to be a complete failure in it I don't want Lynda to be upset and would like Kate to get some appreciation for the costume design even if she didn't sew all of them.

Such is the unmitigated awfulness of Pipsqueak I'm warming to Kate. At least Kate, even in her most egotistical moments ,has comedy value and her parents have a realistic view of her.

Fink · 26/12/2016 14:18

Firstly, I'm only just logging back on after Xmas and noticed I wrote who's instead of whose in my last post. Oh, the shame! I'm so sorry Blush

Then, Toby obviously having bought sexy underwear for Pip for Christmas just confirms every bad opinion I already had of him. And the fact that David and Ruth couldn't even manage to carry the food to the table but even left that to the octogenarian Angry.

TheMortificadosDragon · 26/12/2016 16:07

Toby playing a goose with Kenton, and a side of juggling is exactly what he's actually good at - some of his honked interjections have been very good.

Minimammoth · 26/12/2016 16:07

Dare we ready for a big upset in contrast to the peace of Christmas Day.
Will tobeee turn out to be a blood relative ? Perhaps Jill had a daliance.

PuppetInParadize · 26/12/2016 16:36

I liked the 'dullness' of yesterday in Ambridge. Even Tobee was trying to be polite and fit in. It was only Jill that was petulant. Whatever is wrong with her/her attitude about Tobee, I do hope it's a good tale. I AM sorry for an old lady having to do the chores - but i also find it a stupid and unrealistic SL. Mini - how would she have had a dalliance? She'd have been tied to the BF kitchen with baler wire for decades with the children and her farmer's wife duties. Unless it's Kenton and Shula who were spawned by a Fairbrother? Now there's a thought - and it would certainly explain why Kenton is so like Tobee. Grin

IAmNotAUserNumber · 26/12/2016 17:19

I enjoyed the non-eventfulness of yesterday's edition, even though I had been harbouring hopes that Toe-bee would have departed for Brighton the day before.
Henwee's voice doesn't get any older does it? He's nearly six, and still sounds like a 3 year old. I think the SW's are attempting to show some character development with his constant questioning and "why's", which I don't suppose he would have done under Rob's control. But even that doesn't sound right. IIRC the constant "why" to every answer to every question is more of a 4 year old thing.

cheminotte · 26/12/2016 19:34

Really enjoyed listening to some of the omnibus while cooking Christmas dinner - goose. Finished today and Debbie was superb.
I was a bit confused about Henry and Rob's Christmas card - did someone help him make that card (who?) or did he do it all by himself with no input from an adult - do any six year old boys actually do that?

Notmyname123 · 27/12/2016 02:02

Anyone else wondering about the economics of making costumes from the pants from scratch? Surely they've got quite a substantial wardrobe of costumes from past productions that they could adapt?

Notmyname123 · 27/12/2016 09:28

I meant costumes for the panto! Note to self: don't try and post at 2 a.m.

mummytime · 27/12/2016 09:31

Did the costumes get wrecked in the flood?
Admittedly this production must be costing a fortune? (And Calendar girls would have been cheap.)

EBearhug · 27/12/2016 10:02

There was certainly something about the costumes - were they stored under the stage, or taken to Ambridge Hall, which also flooded?

ameliesfolly · 27/12/2016 10:35

But Kate can't be making them herself, last week she couldn't thread a sewing machine and suddenly everyone was exclaiming over the exquisite embroidery. Perhaps she is buying them in Brighton.

BertrandRussell · 27/12/2016 10:37

I assumed Kate was doing the basic sewing and Peggy and Jill and now Lillian are doing the fancy bits...........

Minimammoth · 27/12/2016 14:18

So when will be hearing Rob whispering sweet nothings into Mirandas ear I wonder. I hope Lil will be telling Justin to stick his 'job' . Are we in for a prolonged and messy divorce?

Vango · 27/12/2016 14:24

If I have only one wish for 2017 it's that Alistair's sudden kindness and attentiveness isn't signalling his imminent affair with Anisha. Honestly, it would make me very very cross.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 27/12/2016 15:45

Back home in Suffolk after spending Christmas with the family in Hampshire. One eye forever on the horizon, but not a Titchener to be seen (phew).

But if any SWs ever read this thread (do we think they do...?) PLEASE can Pip die? I'd suggest a drowning in a bucket of her own smugness. Or maybe in one of the (many many) scenes where she and Towbeeeee are horsing around, he drops her on her head - quick and easy peasy.
