Depends what you mean by that though dragon - it wouldn't be the first or last time that friends of either sex become more than that... I've known a few people in real life who've changed the gender of their chosen partner... probably not likely though I agree.

poor Jazzer needs somebody finally I think

EBearhug · 03/12/2016 14:53

Kirsty might be Helen's friend, but she's also aware that Helen would be challenging to be in a relationship with, and I think she's got more sense.

Tom and Jazzer then? Grin

And I think it's right, we did hear Joe's toenails being done. Shock

Yeah, they should all just stick with books. You can't beat a good book. Grin

PuppetInParadize · 03/12/2016 21:37

I also think now several months have passed since the ONS with Tom, she isn't pregnant. The SW are toying with us.

Hah! Mr Watson outs himself as a "po faced vegetarian" on Broadcasting House.

How much easier would Helen's life have been if only Rob had embraced vegetarianism.

KingscoteStaff · 04/12/2016 10:10

What did Nathan Booth do with those ping pong balls? Balance them on his nose?

glamorousgrandmother · 04/12/2016 10:23

Hah! Mr Watson outs himself as a "po faced vegetarian" on Broadcasting House.
Did anyone else detect a hint of irritation at being constantly identified with Rob? It's been a good gig but maybe he'll feel it's time to move on soon and stretch his repertoire.

Gruach · 04/12/2016 10:29

Actually I was surprised/relieved they didn't spend more time talking about TA.

Listening to the film ... Isn't it a little soon for Helen to be giving relationship advice?

ppeatfruit · 04/12/2016 11:27

Why is it only in soaps that they say "Don't talk about work" At dinner parties, why the eff not? It's life isn't it?

BTW I'm not a po faced vegan Xmas Grin see !!!!

EBearhug · 04/12/2016 13:37

It's not only in soaps they do it. I have done it when with friends I'very met through work - or at least limited it before the first course or something.

If you have two people who you know don't agree on a subject or is something you've talked about before and know it just depresses people, it can make sense to ban it as a subject for at least some of the time, so people can enjoy themselves.

Obviously, if you're having dinner specifically to discuss your career prospects or whatever, it would be daft to ban it. But if it's just to chill, why talk about things which wind others up, just for a break.

witchmountain · 04/12/2016 13:46

glam yes, sounded like gritted teeth to me! "Well that's another example of characters being different from actors", or something like that.

TheAntiBoop · 04/12/2016 15:17

If we have dinner with dh's friends that are from his industry I always say don't talk about work. Otherwise they all go off and talk work and their partners are left too it. Which is fine but not really the point of the dinner

PuppetInParadize · 04/12/2016 15:19

Yes, I agree with EBear, and am on the point of banning politics at the knitting group. GrinIn the UK at this time, and even more so in Scotia, it's too hot a topic for knitting groups IMHO. Though deep down I know I want to be very rude indeed to not terribly bright Tory voting dog lady. She does do naice knitting though. Maybe Ambridge needs a knit and bitch group.

ppeatfruit · 04/12/2016 15:20

Nathan Booth was probably floating his balls in his beer or something Shock Grin. Or balancing on them !

PuppetInParadize · 04/12/2016 15:23

Didn't Timothy W receive verbal abuse at the supermarket at the height of Knob's reign? Not surprised he doesn't want to be too linked to that role. DH let me sleep on today - so i missed BH and the film. I was up very late though. We have trouble with our internet so LA is quite difficult to get.Sad

DoctorTwo · 04/12/2016 17:03

He got that many threats via social media he gave up Twitter and Facebook for a while. I fail to understand how some people are unable to separate fact from fiction. I suppose it's a testament to his acting though.

Shallishanti · 04/12/2016 18:08

must admit I was listening to BH saying to DH
but he sounds really nice!
he's a vegetarian!
actually I thought he sounded quite different when not in character- he did sound like he was gritting his teeth rather but should accept it with good grace and be glad he has done his bit to educate the public. I remember the DV story on EE YEARS ago (Little Mo) and I don't think it had the impact- despite a larger audience- because the perpetrator was so clearly evil.

TheAntiBoop · 04/12/2016 18:30

I would say knob has always been clearly evil. At least since soc was aware of a dv sl developing

lottiegarbanzo · 04/12/2016 19:56

Next romance: Anna and Anisha (that's the new vet's name I think?). They can be competitively career-focused, out at all hours, sustain career vs contentment tension before at least one of them moves for a loftier position / they both slow down and have children - bit like early Adam and Ian then.

Anisha's going to get up to something with someone anyway - Alastair? Dan? Upwardly mobile Toby (no!)?

Adam and Ian to fail, then - either Ian goes to Edinburgh, Charlie walks into his bistro one day, discovers Adam's free, jets southwards, moves in and re-occupies his old job once Justin's used Rob to do all the dirty 'set up' work and he's become a reputational liability to Damara.

Or, Adam loses all faith with Brian / business takes a big downturn (longer term) and hikes off to Scotland.

Kirsty and Tom, eventually.

Doc Locke and Lizzie, maybe? Ifti / Lizzie / Anisha triangle?

Roy + someone dull who's rarely heard from - a junior Kathy.

Shallishanti · 04/12/2016 20:11

no, your right TAB, I put that badly! I suppose I mean he was a more obvious abuser
