Jill's going to catch Toby nicking the mistletoe, isn't she? I hope she makes Harrison arrest him.

BertrandRussell · 01/12/2016 09:40

So bloody typical that bloody mistletoe thing.

First Linda's herbs and stuff, then Brookfield mistletoe. He is such an arsehole. And he's nearly 30!!!!

Did anyone else notice Helen's comment about a memorable Christmas? Surely a massive signpost that Rob is about to go postal?

Definitely RF in Tollcross. Twas our local! By the time we had DC we shopped for food more than we went to pubs - also Brougham St the route for #24 bus to Sick Kids (or Six Kids as ds2 called it!), another place we frequented. I knew the audiology clinic well too. Smile

PuppetInParadize · 01/12/2016 14:54

Now to TA, i don't believe a dress even if 'dry clean only' is not cleanable with after a little child puke. Lots of dry clean only dresses are in fact able to be carefully washed and dabbed - as I am sure many of you know too. I find that whole SL very irritating. Soosan can be a good and humorous character, but they are tending to overdo her just now. And why is the dress 'borrowed'? She must have paid before she was let out of the shop. Being a jail bird, S needs to be careful. Grin

Re-Grace, I clearly recollect a conversation between Elizabeth and Phil just after Shula was widowed where Elizabeth was asking her father about Grace. It went something like Phil alluding to knowing what it/sudden widowhood was like and Elizabeth asking what Grace had been like. She was quite young then but clearly already knew the story of Grace. I wonder how many in Ambridge now will remember Grace - only Joe, Bert, Peggy and Christine I think?

Can i please put on record that i don't like Lynda much either. She has some good lines but she is somethign of a cartoon character at times. Her hayfever sniff portrayal is especially annoying. I have BAD allergies (including Perennial Rhinitis aka all year round hay fever symptoms - and it is fairly well controlled with medication). It's another case of nonsense script writing IMO.

PuppetInParadize · 01/12/2016 14:58

Oops, didn't read this page before posting. Isn't Bert old enough to have known Grace? I assume he's only slightly younger than Joe.

BTW I think Jill is not getting dementia based on what we've heard so far. It's more likely just silly scripting.

TheMortificadosDragon · 01/12/2016 14:59

She couldn't return the frock to the shop reeking of cleaning fluid though! And TBH some clothes just aren't the same after cleaning.

PuppetInParadize · 01/12/2016 15:03

I spose. Oh well, that'll learn her, trying to cheat the shop. Angry

EBearhug · 01/12/2016 15:42

Bert would have been around 20 when Grace died. Has he always lived in Ambridge, though?

TeenAndTween · 01/12/2016 15:45

Bert is a newish character though isn't he?
Didn't he only arrive on the scene after Jethro Larkin (Clarrie's Dad) died? (in a farm accident??? or is that my complete imagination????)

TeenAndTween · 01/12/2016 15:46

Larkin? That doesn't sound right now. Sounds too much like Darling Buds of May ..

TheMortificadosDragon · 01/12/2016 15:51

Larkin is right. I can't remember when Bert arrived, but that seems likely, he's certainly not been in Ambridge forever.

TheMortificadosDragon · 01/12/2016 15:53

And note that Larkins in Ambridge preceded the Darling Buds of May which google tells me was published in 1958 - George shot Bob Larkin in 1957.

TeenAndTween · 01/12/2016 16:06

According to Wiki, Jethro died 1987 helping David fell a tree with a chainsaw. I was at university then.

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/12/2016 16:49

Yes, Dave has managed to finish off two now - Jethro and Nigel

Hoping he will go for the hat trick with Knob.

Or Toebeee

TheAntiBoop · 01/12/2016 16:55

Interesting suggestion

Dad, you just killed my boyfriend. But you own a farm. And I want a farm. So as I am an entitled little madam I expect you to give me the farm to make up for killing my boyfriend. You can go and live in a badger hole or something.

"You've never been in a panto directed by Lynda Snell, have you, Rex?"

Brilliant Grin

Stickerrocks · 01/12/2016 19:16

Is Lizzie giving Richard the cold shoulder because she thinks that buying a car for Frilly is something she should be doing with Nigel? It's bound to end with a Christmas snog, lots of misunderstandings and realisation that they're perfect for each other in about 10 years time.

ThatsNotMyToddler · 01/12/2016 19:17

Just popped on to say the same as user147. We should definitely expect some hideous Rob action over Christmas. Which presumably means the court case next week will go in favour of Helen.

Actually I'm now wondering if Rob might kidnap Caz and her kids, since they're actually coming to visit. Ambridge is a dangerous place for outsiders...

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/12/2016 19:26

Lizzie's giving DocLocke the cold shoulder out of misplaced loyalty to St Smugula - she thinks he and Smugs had a bit of a thang goin' on.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 01/12/2016 22:40

Oh is that what it was about?

She sounded a bit precious but on the other hand, "bog off, I am perfectly capable of buying a car"
