Sorry for the poor title - the end of the last thread has arrived sooner than I thought and I haven't had the benefit of hearing all of the last 2 nights....

Well hello there Alistair! "I don't know how we'd manage without such a good practice in the village." Are we shortly to find out? 😁

EBearhug · 12/10/2016 19:11

I thought that, too.

EBearhug · 12/10/2016 19:13

I do like Robert. He knows just how to sort Linda out.

Vango · 12/10/2016 19:17

Good grief! That's a turn up for the books! I'm surprisingly glad to hear Alistair being lovely to Shula.

GypsyFl0ss · 12/10/2016 19:34

It was nice to hear Al acknowledge the past with Shula and be supportive but I am wondering whether he has his eye on the extra money he might get through the hunt connection.

GypsyFl0ss · 12/10/2016 19:35

I agree EBearhug Robert is a smasher.

R4 · 12/10/2016 20:00

Ian has been publicly cuckolded and that was the last straw for him. He might have been able to cope privately knowing that Adam was unfaithful, but he just can't pretend any longer.

As long as Ian was keeping the information to himself, he was OK - he was pretending to himself. But once Adam-knew-that-Ian-knew then Ian could no longer feign ignorance - he had to either accept the situation (become JD) or leave the relationship.

Imbroglio · 12/10/2016 22:36

Good for Alistair. Maybe this is the rapprochement they need.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/10/2016 23:20

That didn't go at all the way I expected with Alistair and Shula. Maybe the horrible example of Rob versus the lovely Robert had a good effect on him?

Lynda didn't need much persuading, did she?Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 12/10/2016 23:27

As for Ian - I think what did for Adam was that he badly misjudged how to handle it. That final anguished phone call was rather 'me me' and I thought verging putting the blame for the breakup on Ian - cant remember the exact words but along the lines of Ian doing something they both might regret?

If Ambridge did dementors Shugs would be a shoo-in Grin

ZuleikaDobson · 13/10/2016 09:24

Anyone else wondering who got the job of doing the llama impression?

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2016 09:24

Actually ref. Alastair, I reckon TA is unrealistic having a vet who's poor, have the SWs ever been into a vets and seen the price list fgs? Grin

Nice to hear him being kind though, is he up to something Grin?

SingingAvocado · 13/10/2016 09:57

Zuleika – loving the thought of someone doing a llama impression! I hadn't thought of that!

Vango · 13/10/2016 10:32

The Llama did make a change from 'dog barking no. 1', or 'mooing cow'. The 'dog', in particular, always seems to be the same sound effect.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/10/2016 10:58

I always look out for the peafowl. I think I heard one this summer. I see from a quick google that a domesticated peahen/cock can live for 40-50 years, so that sound effect tape could be in use for a long time to come. I wish we heard more about them.

Totally agree it's been lovely to have a return to business as usual. Let's gloss over the fact that nobody IRL leaves it till October to decide on the Christmas play, never mind cast it, start rehearsals etc etc. Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 13/10/2016 11:07

Ambridge always leaves the xmas show late - I suppose people need to regather their strength after the heady delights of the Flower and Produce show.

TheAntiBoop · 13/10/2016 11:35

I hope we don't end up with a Xmas special again

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2016 11:49

Gaspode Peacocks give me the gyp; there was one in the garden of a chateau not far from here and it's soo aggressive they've shut it away from the visitors. It still makes a terrible noise though.

Vango · 13/10/2016 12:09

I listened to this story on the radio last week Gasp0. Not everyone shares the love, it seems 😁

Cripes!

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2016 12:45

It's peacockgate! Grin Apparently the people who lived here before us kept peacocks and the villagers effing HATED them, they flew about making those noises and frightening everyone!!

KingscoteStaff · 13/10/2016 13:10

Our SW London Village show started rehearsing last weekend. DD is a Villager.

What's the show about DD?
