Sorry for the poor title - the end of the last thread has arrived sooner than I thought and I haven't had the benefit of hearing all of the last 2 nights....

Jill won't be happy about Shula becoming MFH.

TheAntiBoop · 10/10/2016 10:15

You're assuming that rob is aware that what he did with the sab was wrong. As far as he's concerned Shula told the truth!!

CheesyWeez · 10/10/2016 10:25

Oh you're right R4. Jill won't like it :-( She's going to be disillusioned by all her family before Christmas at this rate. Poor Jill, I was hoping for a lovely cosy retirement for her.
theAntiBoop Rob did think he was in the right. Remind me though, did anyone else see the incident? The sab's mates? Did Oliver not see it? Could we ask the horse? Grin

TheAntiBoop · 10/10/2016 10:28

No it was just Shula, rob, the sab and his camera

Camera clearly didn't catch anything though

Helen came up at the end - with hindsight she may recall things differently to how she did at the time

Cromwell1536 · 10/10/2016 11:46

Is that because Jill disapproves of hunting? Well, I suppose the fact that some of family hunt won't be a surprise.

ppeatfruit · 10/10/2016 12:42

Oh Francis Maybe you weren't on this thread when everyone (well most of us) Blush were calling Woy, polyester pants.

I also choked (and thought us!!!!) when Kirsty was tearing him off shred about his clothes sense last night Grin.

Scarydinosaurs · 10/10/2016 12:48

anti but when Rob and Shula spoke afterwards he acknowledged it was a lie, he just thought it was a justifiable one!

TheAntiBoop · 10/10/2016 13:00

But he didn't see what he did was wrong - so it wasn't that she lied that he had been the aggressor - more that she protected him from uncomfortable questions I suppose. That's what shook her up most - that he saw his behaviour as normal and reasonable.

Also, he can't out her lying without admitting to having done something wrong really

choccyp1g · 10/10/2016 13:58

I'm convinced the SW get all their ideas from these threads.
So can I point out that while the Nuffield Scholarships do sound a bit of a boondoggle, scholars are expected to write up a serious thesis to justify their investment.
81 pages on agricultural shows, to justify a trip including America, Paris and Papua New Guinea.

choccyp1g · 10/10/2016 14:03

link or anyone with a few hours to spare.

nuffieldinternational.org/live/Reports

I want to hear Tom sweating over this in a year's time . Or more realistically, bottling out when he realises it isn't just a free holiday.

Butteredpars1ps · 10/10/2016 14:12

Kirsty sooo is pregnant isn't she?

instantly · 10/10/2016 14:18

Oh god I never thought of that!!

TheAntiBoop · 10/10/2016 14:20

Is it going to be like that dreadful hugh grant film where he abandons his gf while she's pregnant but they end up back together because he's come to terms with becoming a father (Bleurgh)

Except Kirsty will resist a relationship with Tom (as she should - he's an arsehole in relationships) but they will end up together once the baby is born and play happy families.

Minimammoth · 10/10/2016 14:21

Kirsty pregnant, Tom will be thrilled, but will either fail or turn down the Nuffield. Helen to go for it next.
Baby for Roy and Kate, as she puts him through his training for new relationship.

TheAntiBoop · 10/10/2016 14:34

Wouldn't Helen struggle with all the travelling though? Even in a few years - knob might try and claim Gideon is being abandoned by his mother etc etc

The description of Roy was very much at odds with how they were trying to portray him during the great affair

Putthetulipsthere · 10/10/2016 14:52

Re Roy and his clothes sense - or lack of:. I remember a scene between Carole Tregorran & Elizabeth at Lower Loxley when the Elizabeth/ Roy affair was at its' height. 😊Carole notices Roy and remarks how wonderful it must be for Elizabeth to have such a capable and handsome manager. I assumed that Elizabeth looked more than a bit embarrassed at this point.

I guess you can be handsome and wear polyester trousers. Possibly. But surely they've just invented his lack of dress sense to help along their current SL ( having read this thread of course).

ErrolTheDragon · 10/10/2016 15:35

19 years ago when kate and roy had their fling, he probably wore boring but unexceptionable jeans and t-shirts etc. And maybe when he was working at LL he wore a boring but unexceptionable suit rather than his comfy slacks and Villa top.

If kirsty is pregnant, I think she and tom will co-parent without her having him back (much as he would like that, having realised too late what a gem she is)

Oh, BOOP for helen's sharp little remark about tom bottling out of things at the last minute. Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 10/10/2016 15:58

That was the first I've heard of Roy being a Villa fan! You'd have thought tere would've been a mention when they were relegated in April / May

AnnieNoMouse · 10/10/2016 15:58

Roy and Kate were always an unlikely couple, even back then.

JasperDamerel · 10/10/2016 16:05

I don't imagine Roy as wearing polyester, so much as dad-clothes. He was sort of bloke who wears a sensible jumper, and buys his clothes from the cheaper end of the menswear department in M&S.

The Aston Villa top was a bit of a surprise to me. I would have imagined jeans that were a bit too baggy around the arse, and a slightly baggy cotton polo/rugby shirt. And a jumper.

TheAntiBoop · 10/10/2016 16:39

Agree the villa shirt wasn't how I pictured him

The polyester trustees were only for work. Like the dad at the beginning of back to the future in style

Weekends would be 'smart' jeans. Roy to me is more square than scruffy

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 10/10/2016 16:59

Yeah I'm thinking ASDA jeans for Roy's off duty wear.
