Hopefully we can go back to an ordinary tale of country folk?

Spoilers are frowned upon.... There's a thread for that.

And that would be 'and wait'. Blush

TopazRocks · 01/10/2016 23:12

Errol, I think the share held by Ruth and David will be split amongst their 3 children. I know folk have been saying about Pip getting BF but I really think Josh and Ben will get equal shares - and I'm sure if Ben ever speaks again he'd tell us that. What i don't know about is the B shares held by David's siblings. Do they go on to S, K and E's offspring or stop with them? I'd imagine the former but I haven't a clue really. I suppose the BFers could buy the B shares at any point if they wanted to/had the dosh. Something for Josh to aim for.Smile

I agree that Emma being the catalyst for Rob unraveling was beautiful. The lower class Grundy woman he stopped Helen from seeing and then used as hired help; said no to him.

An actual lower class woman.

TopazRocks · 01/10/2016 23:27

She WAS shouting like a fish wife. She was brilliant though. And Knob''s got nobody to tell about it as nobody wants to be his friend.Grin

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 01/10/2016 23:33

I suppose lucky Ursula got to put Knob to bed, probably amidst mouthfuls of abuse.

Mmm, I don't suppose Helen will have earned much in the last year or two. How can she pay her share of the mortgage?

She is a partner the business and the business pays the mortgage?
It was a big deal at the time. Tom and Helen had to throw their lot in with Tony and Pat to enable them to buy the farm. Tom and Helen had their own businesses but I think they all went into a big pot? But then the pigs are Toms so not sure.

2008 they bought the farm and a full history

claraclutterbuck · 01/10/2016 23:49

In 2008 Helen and her brother Tom became partners in the business, and they encouraged their parents to buy the freehold of the 140acre farm

The shop and the cheese are both successful parts of the family business. I think the problem is that we rarely hear Helen working. She does seem to be less hands-on than the others, though.

Stickerrocks · 02/10/2016 06:48

Who actually does the books? I know Pat did the payroll. I Don't think Rob a ever actually riddled them, he just made some non-commercial decisions.

Stickerrocks · 02/10/2016 06:51

Translate that gibberish as: I don't think Rob ever actually diddled them.

Helen used to make the cheese by hand, sometimes with Pat helping. And she ran Ambridge Organics shop perfectly well until Rob hired her replacement to run it into the ground.

Helen showed Rob how to make cheese once - can't remember if it was before or after she was pregnant. Before, I think, when she still thought he was the bee's knees and was allowed to work and so on.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/10/2016 08:54

Yes, pat was definitely doing some cheesemaking while Helen was on remand. I remember earlier rob trying to help muscle in on it and Helen rebutting him.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/10/2016 08:58

Xpost with ebear - rob asked to be shown how to do it so he could 'help' but helen said cheesemaking was a very personal thing or something like that and wouldn't teach him the art. Notable because in an area where she was undisputedly the expert she didn't fall for his guff.

BoffinMum · 02/10/2016 09:10

Emma was spot on and I am surprised nobody tore a strip off him before, quite frankly.

Imbroglio · 02/10/2016 09:25

Yes - funny how everything in Rob's world is a piece of cake except sourcing gold card and making a crown with jelly sweets.

He questioned her not using a cheaper synthetic rennet or something like that.

Just caught the end of the omni ... rob really should heed Emma's advice and leave the village. Jazzer called him pal.Shock

"Jazzer called him pal."

Where Jazzer's from, pal does not mean what it means in England!
