As doors slam shut in Rob's face and behind SOC, a new door opens for the next Archers editor. Are we expecting some New Tricks, or just Archenders?

Welcome one and all. No spoilers please!

Here we go again with Joe.

ColdTeaAgain · 21/09/2016 19:20

Yep my baby senses were tingling too!

JudyCoolibar · 21/09/2016 19:27

Jessie, sorry I didn't tie up your post with your earlier one, but I read "the implication was that Isha had been told something that Dominic had learned in his capacity as Helen's defence solicitor" as suggesting that Usha shouldn't have been given that information by Dominic.

(Also a law firm partner, BTW).

Gherkinsmummy · 21/09/2016 19:40

How nice to hear Helen laughing with Kirsty!

tomtherabbit · 21/09/2016 19:53

I agree it would look a bit suspect at the family court hearing if Rob had been made homeless by someone in the opposing side's law firm - even if it shouldn't make a difference.

EBearhug · 21/09/2016 20:01

I too guess Kirsty is pregnant, though I didn't tap my nose, as I was negotiating a tricky roundabout at the time.

Cromwell1536 · 21/09/2016 20:20

Pregnant? Blimey, after ONS with Tom (formerly Tommy, the Teenage Pig Breeder)? He shoots, he scores!

OhTheRoses · 21/09/2016 20:31

Cromwell Grin. My grannie (farming family and horse breeder) always said "if you can't eat it, there's no point shooting it" Shock

JessieMcJessie · 21/09/2016 20:48

Judy that second post was in reference to whether Usha should have told Alan what Dominic told her ie whether what she had found out from Dominic was confidential info that should not have been communicated outside the firm.

JessieMcJessie · 21/09/2016 20:57

BOOP of course lots of people make the same point often but they don't usually tell the people who made the same point previously that they were wrong!

I hope that's not the next thread title!!

EBearhug · 21/09/2016 22:17

I've been quite enjoying this week, just hearing from people we haven't heard from for ages - Alan, Usha, Kenton. I could do with a Jim and Jazzer scene.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/09/2016 22:24

Agreed on all points, EBearhug!

This is another interesting legal view of recent happenings.

On a diffeent note, It is not difficult to serve notice on tenants. Having been a landlord and a tenant, I have both been given notice for building works and given notice to tenants. It's a horrible thing to do either way.

R4 · 21/09/2016 22:33

That paper from the barristers looks like the first submission to the next Archers Academic Conference.Grin

MissPattie · 21/09/2016 22:34

So nice to hear Bert and Joe actually talking about other characters in the village.

xmasadsboohiss · 21/09/2016 22:40

I didn't twig the possibility that Kirsty is pregnant. Still fixating too much on the Helen story and the inevitability of things going wrong for her again soon. Everything's going too well at the moment. Looking forward to Tony supervising the access visit. Will that be the first time Rob has ever seen baby Jack in the flesh?

TheAntiBoop · 21/09/2016 22:41

Didn't they have sex three days ago? Surely the little swimmers haven't even made contact yet!

TopazRocks · 21/09/2016 22:51

I think that's right, xmas. He hasn't seen Myson yet.

I didn't pick up on the pregnancy idea either. I assume K hasn't discovered it yet, but they are dropping hints in advance. Unless Tom produces superfast spermies.

TheAntiBoop · 21/09/2016 22:53

Is this the contrast with jacks conception?

JudyCoolibar · 21/09/2016 22:54

I think it's reasonable to suppose that what Usha discussed with Alan in relation to Bruce was information that was public knowledge by the end of the trial. In any event, her firm would have had no duty of confidentiality towards prosecution witnesses and their relatives unless information was specifically embargoed.

JudyCoolibar · 21/09/2016 23:05

Given how firm Kirsty was that the bunk-up wasn't going to lead to anything, I can't believe she wouldn't have been ultra-careful about contraception.

ibrowze · 21/09/2016 23:13

theantiboop

yes those swimmers can go at a cracking pace especially when lying on a pillow and tucking knees to chest for a couple of hours after the event.

I think they can get from entry to eggsit within a Sunday Omnibus.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/09/2016 23:35

Kirsty and Bert are lovely, aren't they?

Nice to have some more of the regulars back, and cleverly work in things like JD fussing around sending Phoebe off to uni.

Thanks (all Grin) for enlightening me re solicitors.

Tenancy agreements are often 6 months and then thereafter 2 months notice by the landlord but 1 month from the tenants side, so theres a chance Rob will guess which way the wind is blowing and jump before he's pushed, he always wants to call the shots ( cf him quitting before charlie could fire him)
