Thursday 13th November 2014 - BBC episode summary.

Helen leaves Henry with Tony for an hour. Peggy's using a stick to help her walk, but insists to Helen she doesn't need to see a doctor. Helen takes Peggy back to the farm to get her a support bandage.

Johnny's disappointed that Tony doesn't let him get the cows in with Ed. Tony and Ed discuss Emma's catering for the turkey pardon. George did a poster with drawings of turkeys with their heads chopped off - with just one happy one alive in the middle holding an axe.

As the cows come into the yard, Johnny takes Henry out to see them. Just as Peggy and Helen pull up there's a shout and a cry of pain - Johnny is knocked to the ground. Henry's also on the ground, with Ed behind Otto the bull. Tony is being trampled. Helen cries out to Henry to stay completely still.

enochroot · 20/09/2016 14:31

But whatever actually spooked Otto, Peggy pleaded with Helen not to go back to the farm because they'd be late for the hairdresser but Helen insisted on doing just that, drove very fast and badly rattled Peggy.

Vango · 20/09/2016 14:41

Well actually, the Otto incident would never have happened had Peggy not decided to overlook Tony in her will! He'd never have bought the bull had she not made him feel like a washed-up, has-been farmer. So it's all Peggy's fault really 😁.

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 20/09/2016 15:03

I don't recall any suggestion that Helen was driving fast back to the farm. It was a period when Peggy was acting a bit oddly generally, she'd hurt her leg but insisted she didn't want to go to the doctor, and Helen remembered they had a bandage at Bridge Farm so said they should stop off to get it. Peggy was whittering that there was no need, but it seemed to be more of an excuse and there wasn't any genuine concern that she was going to be late. If Peggy was rattled at all before the bull incident, it was at the fact that Helen was overriding her. In any event, Pat didn't see Helen driving and there was never any suggestion that it caused the accident, so it can't have been a factor in her concern about Helen driving now.

TheAntiBoop · 20/09/2016 15:32

She wasn't driving fast - pot hole was mentioned

Henry ran towards Tony - not Helen

enochroot · 20/09/2016 17:10

OK. I've misremembered. I'd be a hopeless witness!

spiker · 20/09/2016 19:08

Go Ian!

spiker · 20/09/2016 19:09

....go Usha!

Stickerrocks · 20/09/2016 19:10

Blimey, Usha & Alan in one episode.

Stickerrocks · 20/09/2016 19:11

& Josh is proving to be a fun-guy tonight!

spiker · 20/09/2016 19:12

Forgiveness? What about some repentance eh?

Shallishanti · 20/09/2016 19:12

what planet is Alan on???
besides, it isn't for Usha to forgive Rob...is it?

Vango · 20/09/2016 19:14

Good God, I have SO gone off Alan!

summerholsdreamin · 20/09/2016 19:15

Love Josh!

TheAntiBoop · 20/09/2016 19:17

Was Alan going for Christian forgiveness????

Vango · 20/09/2016 19:17

Loved it. Loved Josh! David is hilarious. Ruth was funny. All good. (Obviously broken hearted for Ian 😢).

spiker · 20/09/2016 19:19

antiboop yes - Usha wasn't having it though and had good argument in favour of kicking knob out. Looking forward to hearing that.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/09/2016 19:19

I love Josh too. As I never omit to mention he is played by Angus Imrie, son of Celia Imrie and Benjamin Whitrow, and he was in my son's year at school, which means he is now 22, ie 4 years older than Josh.

Adam - I'm sorry for you, but you brought this on yourself. I'm more sorry for Ian. Sad

spiker · 20/09/2016 19:20

"Good for the village and probably doing him a favour" were two of them. Right on both counts.

SarfEast1cated · 20/09/2016 19:20

I really don't see why Justin would give the job to Rob - he's pretty toxic surely - and he had plenty of cause to withdraw the offer.

Gumpendorf · 20/09/2016 19:21

Boop for a great episode. Usha making a stunning return, summing up the whole Rob thing perfectly. Boop for Josh and Ian too. Lovely editing - just like old times as the episode moved between storylines. Yay!

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 20/09/2016 19:27

It was so good to hear someone outside the family actually pronounce some old-fashioned outright disgust at Rob's conduct. As for Alan, surely forgiveness requires the transgressor actually to acknowledge that they've done something wrong and try to do something to atone? He must be aware that there is a substantial danger that Rob will (a) try to do more harm to Helen, Henry and Jack, and (b) be on the hunt for the next woman to abuse and rape.

The regrettable thing about Ian chucking Adam out is that Rob will take it as vindication and the triumphant result of all his efforts. Remember how pissed off he was when Ian went through with the marriage despite his best efforts to sabotage it?

Vango · 20/09/2016 19:29

Yes LadyConstance, definitely a 'victory' for Rob. He'll be positively gleeful.

Northernlurker · 20/09/2016 19:36

Loved tonight. Alan and Usha calmly discussing what's right and what's wrong. I don't think Alan thinks he should forgive rob but he doesn't think he should condemn him either iyswim. It's an interesting debate. Clearly she's going to chuck Rob out. Hurrah!

However that will only lead to him renting 1 the Green which Will can't afford to leave empty, especially if Justin puts pressure on will via Brian.....

spiker · 20/09/2016 19:44

Does will own no 1 the green? Where does he live??
