I read all the earlier books and was pleased to find Michael Tulliver Lives on R4. If anyone else was listening can they tell me, did Anna die at the end? She seemed to come round in hospital but I wondered if the last scene at Barbary Lane was Michael and Ben scattering her ashes.

She didn't die. Michael and Ben were talking about John's ashes.

I've done a quick google. I knew about the next book "Mary Ann in Autumn", but not the last in the series "The days of Anna Madrigal".

The last two books are wonderful for fans of Tales of the City - the last one features the Burning Man Festival and is very poignant (and that's all I'm going to say).

I am a total hard nosed bitch. I was driving whilst that episode was on, and was proper crying at the end. Had to pull over.

I hadn't realised just how much I love that series.

I'm glad she didn't die. I just wondered if I'd missed something. According to iplayer Mary Ann in Autumn is being broadcast next. I'm looking forward to that.
